My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary with a trip to Savannah. I wanted a special place to stay, and we were so happy that we chose the Azalea Inn and Gardens. Our room was beautiful and comfortable, and we had a lovely view of the gardens from our private balcony. The full breakfasts were delicious, and we enjoyed wine and hors d'oeuvre each evening before we went out to dinner, plus dessert and sherry when we returned to the inn. Teresa and the staff we so welcoming and helpful. The house is beautiful, and it was nice to stay in a quiet neighborhood in the Historic District. We were a short walk to the Riverfront and the city is very pedestrian friendly. One of the best parts of our stay was Joey, Teresa's 4 pound Yorkie dog who is the cutest, sweetest dog in Savannah! He greeted us each morning, and when we returned in the afternoons from our ventures, we took him into our room with us to relax. We will definitely stay at the Azalea Inn when we return to Savannah, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special bed and breakfast. View Reviewer Info

We recently decided to make a trip to Savannah and found the Azalea Inn online after much searching. What a find!! Teresa was very warm and welcoming upon our arrival, showing us our room and the Inn...which new to Savannah we were very interested in. The atmosphere, special amenities, attention to details, BREAKFASTS, snacks in the evening all contributed to the stellar three nights we enjoyed there. The profound sense is that if it is possible, they will try to make it happen for you. Recommendations on restaurants, sites to see, directions, maps, the works, are all cheerfully offered. The history of the Inn and the feeling of instantly warm friendship with Teresa and those who run the Inn with her would make us go back again, and certainly to recommend it very highly to anyone else who might be thinking of Savannah! Miss Betty makes a fabulous bed! View Reviewer Info

My husband surprised me with a trip to Savannah to celebrate my birthday and with less than a week to plan we settled on the Azalea Inn for our stay. What a wonderful decision! The inn itself is very charming and exactly what one would expect for a B&B, actually, more than we hoped for. It was a trip of many firsts...first time in a B&B, first time in Savannah, first time planning on such short notice but it was all very much perfect. The attentive staff, the delicious treats and the exceptional breakfasts were fabulous, but what we really enjoyed were the lively chats with Teresa and the feeling of "relax, unwind, you're welcome here" that we had during our entire stay. The grounds are very well maintained, the rooms are all lovely, the experience we had is unforgettable. Go here now places like these are like rare gems! View Reviewer Info

I sadly write this comment about the Azalea Inn, but I do so in the hopes that the experience I had there will not be repeated for any future guest. But first the positive….The pool at the Azalea Inn
is a welcome addition to the Inn and the flowers/landscaping around the pool were pleasant to look at during a swim.
However, I would not choose to ever stay there again because the proprietor made me feel uncomfortable, contrary to the Azalea Inn brochure and her verbal assurance before our arrival, that the Azalea Inn staff treats their guests like royalty. I was dismayed by her angry retort to a simple question/request that I made. I was doubly dismayed by Teresea Jacobson's slanderous choice of words, her verbal attacks, and her rude behavior that she chose to vent toward me, a guest. Her justification was that she chooses whom she will treat with royalty.
For the price that I paid for a room ($155), I could have stayed at a nearby Inn for about $30 more, a first class establishment with exceptionally high quality service. In hindsight, I wish I had made that choice.

| Innkeeper Response |
This guest had made a request of the assistant innkeeper who responded appropriately and respectfully that we would not be able to meet her need. About 30 minutes later she came to me and made the same request. Unfortunately, I found the request to be unreasonable, but politely told her that my assistant was correct in informing her of such. She then became extremely upset at which point I suggested that her needs might be better met at another inn and that I would be happy to assist her and her traveling companion (the person who actually made the reservation)in securing reservations elsewhere, perhaps with room service. The other woman stated she did not want to leave and after consulting with the guest who wrote this review, informed me they wished to stay. I spoke with the unhappy reviewer who agreed she wished to stay as well and so they did.
