Arcadia Citrus Groves provides a welcome departure from the overstuffed chintz sofas, shared bathrooms, and family-style group breakfasts, found in so many B & B's.
Instead, Richard offers an open, airy, guesthouse with a separate entrance, kitchenette, kingsized platform bed, flatscreen TV. A basket of huge bakery muffins and fresh fruit is on the glass dining table upon your arrival, and items from Richard's vast collection of vintage-modern artwork and accessories adorn the walls and open bookshelves. If you've forgotten to pack a razor, body wash, lotion, or sunscreen, just check under the sink in the bathroom. Just about any toiletry imaginable can be found there.
The combination of extremely cool aesthetics, private quarters, and Richard's "hands-off" hospitality (he's there if you need him, elsewhere if you don't) will keep me coming back. Oh, and the easy 10 minute walk to Fashion Square Mall doesn't hurt, either. View Reviewer Info

Arcadia was my first B&B experience and I must say it was a good one.
The room, which seemed more like a small bungalow, had everything I needed for my week stay: Kitchenette, private bath w/shower, TV/stereo, even a working fireplace. The bed was a king and very comfortable, I thought. You get a private entrance and a doorway to the pool area.
Richard, the owner, was a fantastic host. He kept me provided with plenty of fruits and muffins for breakfast. But he went above and beyond the call of duty when he loaned me his personal bicycle; All I had to do was purchase a security chain and lock for it...Not a bad deal. He also drove me to a local pizza place for my first night's dinner, all the while giving me a little tour of the area. I felt more like I was visiting a friend than a business owner. Thanks again for everything, Richard! Oh, and about his dog, he's a very friendly toy poodle, whose name I've totally forgotten...Sorry. :)
If your alone or with a companion, I think Arcadia is an excellent choice. It may not be the fanciest, but Richard's hospitality and homey feel more than make up for it. View Reviewer Info
