Lovely inn, enormous beautifully decorated room. The grounds are lovely, the inn is spotless, the innkeeper is gracious, and an unbelievable cook! Breakfast was easily the most delicious breakfast I have ever eaten! That said, the driveway is a little tricky to exit. I loved this place!

The harbor View is a beautiful inn in a beautiful town. The owner, a retired chef, makes the best breakfast (included) you could wish for, a perfect start for a day of exploring, or just relaxing.

joe and Jean made our recent trip to Maine a memorable event. The beautiful decor, immaculate rooms, gorgeous flowers, wonderful view, and five star breakfasts made us feel like visiting royalty. They were wonderfully friendly and always eager to share our experiences as we traipsed around the Mid Coast, giving us suggestions that always turned out to be just what we were looking for. Bill and I have our own cottage in New Castle, but it was under repair so we chose Harbor View ans were delighted to know of a place close by for overflow guests- Joe is and outstanding chef and runs a top notch establishment.

And you will be too, when you stay at the Harbor View. Each of the three bedrooms are beautifully appointed, with comfortable beds, immaculate bathrooms, and, in two cases, private porches. The public rooms (including a large living area where guests congregate before breakfast) and the dining room are airy and comfortable. Breakfasts are tasty and creative. Scones, bacon, local jams, egg dishes and fruit, often decorated with flowers from the garden, arrive on impeccable place settings. The coffee, by the way, is superb. It's the only coffee I can drink without half and half! You'll be asked about food and beverage preferences when you arrive. Your needs will be accommodated. This delightful hostelry is just a few steps from downtown Damariscotta, across the bridge over the Damaraiscotta River. Visitors can walk and shop without moving their cars! Host Joe McEntee and Jean Lannan lead a staff of pleasant informed folks who have great suggestions about places to visit and things to see. Try to get a room at the Harbor View Inn. You'll be glad you did!
