The murder mystery was a fascinating and fun addition, with all the participants dressed in period costume and really into their roles. The spectacularly appointed rooms were impressive beyond compare. The highlight nonetheless was the gourmet dining. The meals were tasty, beautifully presented, made from scratch, and created mostly from fresh, locally raised ingredients. Guillaume as host, waiter, story-teller, and accomplished pianist was rivaled only by the creative culinary talents of his beautiful wife Sokun. It was just an outright memorable and fun weekend in beautiful, historic Washington, Georgia, halfway between Athens and Augusta. If unique is what you seek... View Reviewer Info

French/Cambodian innkeepers, Guillaume and Chef Sokun Slama have found a way to make a big impression in the small town of Washington, GA. The almost 200 year old "manor" turned into a B&B is filled with delightful antiques in the spectacular rooms, all different from one another, but one just as unique as the next. Each has it's own bathroom but don't expect lavishly big American ones. Think European, small but fuctional.
As wonderful as the manor is, the food is the star here, as are the innkeepers, Guillaume and Sokun. Guillaume, French for William, is the front man and lovely, petite Cambodian born Sokun is the chef to die for! Everything, from French pastries, to the baguette, to the exquisite desserts are made from scratch, with loving care. Sokun admits her hours in the kitchen are long, but she loves presenting fabulous food to her guests. And her "breaks my heart" when she had to toss out a poached egg with froe gras and truffle sauce because a patron thought the egg was under cooked!
Go for the charm of the manor, the fabulous food and the nightly piano playing of Guillaume and especially for the companionship of two wonderful people who chose to be rooted in the South. Just an hour from Augusta, it made a terrific place to stay during Masters week. View Reviewer Info
