I was sent to Houston on an extended assignment, and after finding Hidden Oaks on this website, decided to give them a try. Phil and Maria made me feel like family, fed me like a queen, and made my 6-week stay unforgettable. My "room" was really a suite ... huge ... and filled with beautiful antiques. When I told my sis about the beautiful setting, one thing led to another and my nephew and his fiance ended up having their rehearsal dinner AND wedding there. What a find!!!!

My first stay at Hidden Oaks was in March of 2008. I liked it so much, I arranged my next business trip to Houston (in April 2009) to fit Hidden Oaks availability. For the price of an anonymous hotel on the freeway, you get marvellous hospitality and a down home feel. Maria and Phil even invited me to sit with them at the dinner table after work. That's not in the price of admission! I would definitely stay here again, but would try to get one of the upstairs, carpeted rooms next time.

My husband, mother, friend, and I stayed at Hidden Oaks the first week of December 2007. The main house is like something out of a movie--gracious and elegant in the midst of beautiful grounds. Although Hidden Oaks is just minutes from the airport, downtown, and the museum district, it feels like you're in a world of your own. We loved our rooms and really loved the dining room and breakfast-- real china and silver and a DELICIOUS and filling meal. This would be a fabulous place to have a family reunion, intimate wedding, or just a get-together with friends. We all give the Hidden Oaks two thumbs up!

When faced with an extraordinary horrible family tragedy we , Carol and I , were put up at the Hidden Oaks B&B in Houston , Texas . Friends and colleagues of my sister's had made all the arrangements and I can't even begin to express what a blessing it was during these extremely hard times . The B&B itself is absolutely gorgeous , but it were Maria and Phil , and their wonderful staff , who made it home for us . They are among the warmest and most genuine people one could ever hope to meet and I feel privileged and honored to call them friends and members of our extended family . Needless to say that , when in Houston and , looking for a home away from home , the Hidden Oaks is the one and only place to be . On a scale from 1 -10 the Hidden Oaks would easily score an 11+ . We sincerely hope that one day they may come to Canada , so we could have the chance to return the favor and welcome them to our home . Maria and Phil are charming, gracious hosts, offering hospitality way beyond anything we have ever experienced in many years of travel. Maria greeted us at the car with a large umbrella to protect us from the few sprinkles. Roses, champagne, fruit, and cheese awaited us in the large room. We had the best night's sleep of our 10 day trip in that bed. Stay here. You'll be glad you did.

When I travel my preference is to stay at B&B’s and Hidden Oaks is by far my favorite. I have been staying there at least once a year for several years now. The rooms are comfortable, the food is great, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

My husband and I have been married for 4 (going on 5) years and never had a Honeymoon nor really took the time to properly celebrate our anniversary. Hidden Oaks was quite a surprise when I stumbled across it online. Upon our first visit it was "Love at First Site". It was a must that we decided to make reservations though the time would be short. Everything was Wonderful, The rooms were immaculate, and nothing was out of place. The service was unbelievable. The food was outstanding; Maria & Phil were an absolute delight. Though the time was short my Husband & I felt as if we were living in a "Dream". It made of for all of lost time we had not been able to celebrate our union. It was very hard to believe it we were just a hop, skip and jump away from home. I would recommend anyone who is looking for a quiet get away near home, where you can unwind, relax and enjoy all of Beautiful nature with such beautiful People, to make a special point to plan a visit to "Hidden Oaks. My daughter and her fiance were just married 3 days ago (01/05/08) at Hidden Oaks and EVERYTHING was perfect! Our experience started when we began looking for a venue for the wedding. We looked at quite a few other places but when we arrived at Hidden Oaks we fell in love with the house, gazebo/garden area, and the huge trees and other foliage. Then we met Maria and that sealed the deal. She dropped everything to serve us coffee and pastries and show us pictures and whatever else we wanted to see. We reserved the place for the weekend and what a weekend it was. I (the mother of the bride) was a bundle of nerves when we arrived and of course Maria was there for us and answered all my questions. I did calm down and took in all happiness, togetherness, and the guests that arrived in awe at the scenery and hominess of Hidden Oaks. I would highly recommend it to anyone for any occasion.

A friend treated my daughter and friends for an overnight stay a week before her wedding. Visiting Hidden Oaks was so enchanting. Maria served afternoon tea and made us feel so welcomed when we showed up to make arrangements. The feeling of wonderful memories you wish were yours. It was an escape to relaxation, comfortable settings, rocking chairs, great breakfast, and a beautiful pavillion overlooking gardens. I have also attended Posadas during the Christmas holidays and it becomes a Wonderland. Filled with family and friends,the plantation looking grounds takes you to a time in the past where there isn't any rush. This is an exciting place to visit, stay over, hold parties, weddings, and other social occasions. Once you visit, you will really experience the true meaning of gracious, friendly, downhome hospitality.

My wife and I were lucky enough to be able to stay in this charming b and b while we were moving out of Houston. Maria and Phil have made a hidden oasis with beautiful, relaxing gardens surrounding an historic house. The breakfasts were superb, the rooms exceptional, the whole experience was great. Perfect place for us to operate during our move. We would highly recommend to business travelers or tourists. Make sure to ask Phil if he has any new jokes.

My husband had a long-term business contract in Houston, and was referred to Hidden Oaks B&B by another innkeeper in Texas. What a wonderful referral! Hidden Oaks Innkeepers, Maria & Phil (as well as their staff), went out of their way to make my husband feel at home during his stay in Houston. I visited my husband a few times while he was in Houston, and after only the first visit, I felt as though Maria & Phil were family members. Just minutes away from downtown Houston, Hidden Oaks has the feel of an old plantation home "hidden" away in the hustle and bustle of the city. The 2 suites in the main house are huge with loads of amenities, and our bed was more comfortable than our bed at home! Whether you're travelling on business, looking for a romantic get-away, planning a wedding or other special event, you can't beat Hidden Oaks Bed & Breakfast in Houston! Any time we're in Houston, we'll be staying at Hidden Oaks.

I have stayed at Hidden Oaks several times and have enjoyed each of their suites. This is an unexpected gem nestled between the interstate and the airport in a quiet, gardened spot that feels like it's way out of town. I cannot believe there are not more reviews on this hidden treasure! Just a few miles from Hobby Airport, it is nestled in quiet surroundings conveniently near to downtown Houston. I have stayed in both suites on different visits and can't decide which I prefer. The beds are large and clean and comfortable. The breakfast menus are all good, but my favorite is the waffles with homemade syrup. The staff is friendly and accomodating. The innkeepers make you feel right at home. I have been a guest there on a number of occasions and have never had an unpleasant experience. Since I have now relocated to Houston, Hidden Oaks has become my favorite in-town getaway spot. Hats off to Maria and Phil for providing an outstanding home away from home!
