My husband and I stayed last weekend at your bed and breakfast and I can assure you that your innkeeper, Robert, made the weekend. He far exceeded our expectations, from the wonderfully-prepared breakfast to the attention to his speech. What a wonderful asset to your company. It is with great sadness that we learned he will be moving to New Orleans. Furthermore, just to let you know, I hate bread pudding and he informed us that we would be having bread pudding Sunday and assured me that I would love it. He was right. Charming Inn with lovely period furniture. The was very clean and orderly. Excellent location we were able to walk to Front Street and Cane River antique shops and restaurants. Staff very nice, breaksfast served in lovely dining room.

My husband and I travelled to Natchitoches last weekend to attend a sporting event in which my daughter was participating. It was was a lovely and relaxing visit to a hitherto unkown part of the US. The Judge Porter House offered a comfortable, and gracious spot from which to venture forth and explore. We stayed in the Guest House, which is a separate apartment on the property. My only quibble with the accomodation was that the bedroom is a small loft, reached by a spiral staircase, and the only bathroom is on the lower floor! After a certain age, that arrangement presents some difficulties. However, the staff was very pleasant, and helpful, and the breakfast(included) was good. Eating together at one long table in the morning was also a great way to foster a feeling of fellowship among all the guests.All in all, we enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Me and my wife lst visit to Natchitoches,La. I booked our 4 nights at the Judge Porter House for her birthday. It was everything that was advertised in the broucher and on the web site. We stayed in the Garden Room and it was great. beautiful view of the garens and private entrance which we liked. Jennifer the hostess was just outstanding in every way. Also the two course breakfast every morning was outstanding and more than what one would expect. Also meeting so many nice people and good conversation during breakfast. We had a full 4-day site seeing adventure each day while we visited Natchitoches,La. We will be back and will keep the Judge Porter House at top of our picks. very enjoyable delite. Jerry

The location is just far enough from main town to be quiet, yet within walking or easy driving distance. The breakfast is outstanding in both quality and quantity, sufficient that we did not need to stop for a lunch but continued our plantation and historical sightseeing. We chose the Garden Room, the smallest of the rooms available but large enough for our needs. It overlooks the rear garden and has both an exterior and interior entrance. We would stay at the Judge Porter House again.

Judge Porter House is very easy to find. It is a comfortable walk to the riverfront for shopping and dinner. This was nice after a long day of traveling and there are lots of great sights to take in on your walk. Loved Jennifer the Inn Keeper it was a pleasure to have her greet us for breakfast and her cooking is wonderful. It reminded me of a cross between New Orleans and Eureka Springs. Several of the restaurants are not open for dinner and closed on Sunday so keep that in mind.

The whole experience was spectacular. The house is warm and charming. The furnishings are well chosen, very comfortable beds, immaculately clean and the gardens and grounds are breathtakingly beautiful and groomed to perfection. There are all these wonderful things and then there is Charles. He is a great cook. He is a very warm friendly person and makes you feel welcome and a wonderful person. I have stayed at other B&B's in Natchitoches and while they were nice there is no comparison. The Judge Porter House and its staff exceeded all my expectations. I would definately stay there again and would highly recommend the Judge Porter House to those willing to share my delightful experience at the Miracale on 2nd Street

We had the perfect anniversary. We stayed in the guest house and had privacy and lots of room to be very comfortable. The garden is absolutely beautiful. It was very pleasant to just sit and look at all the lovely plants as well as watch the cute kittens playing in the bushes. Breakfast was amazing. Never have we ever received such wonderful breakfasts at a B&B. Charles the Inn Keeper is a treasure. The Judge Porter B&B exceeded all our expectations. We had a glorious time. Natchitoches is absolutely beautiful. We can't wait to go back and we will definitely stay at the Judge Porter House when we go.

The home is beautiful, everything was immaculate, and every detail is beautifully arranged and provided, down to the chocolates by the bedside. Charles was enthusiastic about the accommodations and a great resource for Nachitoches and the surrounding area; he quickly found out any information that he didn't know offhand; he's just downright cheerful and ready to make his guests feel at home! We were celebrating our 28th anniversary and wanted to do something different. Staying at the Judge Porter House really added to the weekend. It was so relaxing. I had never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast before, and didn't really know what to expect. Well let me tell you, I am now a Bed and Breakfast kind of person. This house is beautiful, and my wife and I really enjoyed spending time with the other guests while enjoying the incredible breakfast prepared by Charles. I can't say enough about Charles. After meeting him and seeing the attention he gives to each guests, it is clear he really enjoys his job. Our stay at the Judge Porter House was outstanding in every way. The furnishings appointments in the house are lovely and authentic with the period. Highlights of the stay: an amazing stress reducing bubble bath in the jacuzzi tub and enjoying an early cup of coffee on the porch before breakfast, listening to the songbirds and talking with my daughter. There we met Charles who is adorable and an impeccable host. I hope to return at Christmas time with my husband to this treasure in LA.

We recently came to Natchitoches with 28 other couples. We reserved this B&B as well as the other two owned by this group. My husband and I stayed in the guest house which was really nice. The entire house was beautifully decorated and comfortable. We were all within a few blocks of the downtown area and central to everything. I would recommend this B&B without hesitation. Our host was wonderfully accomodating and the breakfast was really delicious. We had one couple who stayed in another group's B&B and they didn't even get breakfast.

My wife and I celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary Judge Porter House. We stayed in the Guest house. It was very nice and comfortable. We loved the privacy. The Guest house was furnished very well and met all ouf our needs. Breakfast was the best. After you eat this breakfast, you do not even think about lunch. My wife and I stayed in the New Orleans suite and the bed was a little too firm for my liking, the tv was a bit tiny and it could of used a fridge! But otherwise it was impecably decorated and very clean! This house is beautiful and not far from the shops and the river. We'll be staying again in the future.

My husband and I just returned from a stay at the Judge Porter House to celebrate our 4th Anniversary. The home is a beautiful piece of history! We stayed in the Garden Room which has romantic decor and a large bathroom that includes a separate shower. It also has it's own exterior entrance which has a private balcony overlooking the beautifully landscaped back lawn. Charles, the innkeeper, was such a joy to be around. He was kind, outgoing, helpful and an excellent cook. He definitely helped add to our stay and made us smile each morning. The Judge Porter House is also located within walking distance to the main street. Additionally, it was very quiet. While in our room, we never even heard the other guests (who we greatly enjoyed meeting). After 10 months of separation, as my husband has been in Afghanistan, we truly enjoyed our stay at the JPH. It is a lovely and peaceful setting. One can only be conflicted about sharing this little jewel with other travelers, because you want to make sure you can return. My husband and i chose the Judge Porter House as a rest stop when traveling to see our granddaughter in texas. As eager as i was to hold her in my arms, I couldn't tear myself away from the peace and serenity you experience within this bed and breakfast. We planned on leaving at 7:ooam before breakfast but the adorable innkeeper charles talked us into staying for breakfast and what a treat it was. Charles is like chicken soup - GOOD FOR THE SOUL!! We stayed in the garden room and it is just gorgeous. This room has a large jacuzzi tub with a separate stand up glass shower. You have your own private entrance through the beautiful landscaped garden to your room and you also have your own little balcony/deck to sit and have coffee admiring the garden and fountains. The Judge Porter House was the answer to a much needed getaway---a weekend of pampering and Southern hospitality---the Easter Bunny even managed to visit our rooms! Breakfast was awesome and I felt like a princess in my four-poster bed. The decor was exquisite. I can't wait to go back and visit this charming old city on the River.

We recently spent the weekend at the JPH. My husband went to school there and they were having a Fraternity reunion. After reading the reviews of the JPH, we thought this would be the perfect spot to stay. Neither of us had ever stayed at a B & B and were a little scared that we would be uncomfortable. We arrived to one of the most beautiful B & B's Natchitoches has and there are many! The inside was no diffferent. Exquisite antique furniture, tastfully decorated around the entire home. Our bedroom was in the Orleans room upstairs. The bed was breathtaking as was the rest of the room. We had our own adorable bathroom. Privacy was important as we did not know any other guests staying here. We had no issues with privacy. Breakfast is served at 8:30 am. We were only able to make breakfast once but it was one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. In the formal dining room, china, tablecloths, etc . . Charles, the Innkeeper was so hospitable. We highly recommend this B & B and would absolutely stay here again. One final thing . . . the location was perfect. Just a few blocks from shopping and restaurants. Covington, LA

It has been a very long time since we have gotten away for a weekend. Our children were always involved in a sports, so finally our children have grown and we are now getting to know each other again. What a great start at the Judge Porter Bed and Breakfast. I have never stayed in one until now well hotel days are over for me! Thank you Charles Lacaze for making our stay excellant and welcomed. The breakfast was out of this world and I was treated like such a lady being served before my husband! Everyone could not believe we were able to book a room that quick, but the website was very helpful and within minutes I had an answer and we were on our way to Natchitoches. Again thank you very much and we will be back soon.

At the last minute, I was able to book a room for my husband and myself at the Judge Porter House B & B. Actually at the time I was doing the searching, the website showed that all rooms were booked, but I took a chance anyway, and called the 800 number. As luck would have it, Charles answered, told me that there had been a recent cancellation, and that if I checked on Last Minute Deals on their website, that I could get the room at a somewhat reduced rate. With that encouragement, I booked it! Not only did Charles help us with that tip, but at breakfast on Sunday morning, upon learning that a young couple at the table were celebrating their first anniversary, he broke out a bottle of champagne so that all the guests could toast them. What a lovely experience for everyone! And the copies of the breakfast recipes were an added bonus. Well done, all the way around.

We stayed in The Guest House and it was really special. So much privacy, yet right next door to the main house. Breakfast was awesome -- I can safely say I have never had desert for breakfast, much less at the start of the meal. We met some wonderful people, and Yetta the Innkeeper was nothing but gracious. I celebrated my birthday there, and it was truly special. What a wonderful weekend.

The house was just beautiful, the breakfast was very yummy, and the innkeeper couldn't have been nicer! The price was very good as well. We stayed in the guest house, which we absolutely loved. It was so cute and cozy and we appreciated the extra privacy. We felt very at home even in the short (two night) time we stayed there. Breakfast was a great time to chat with the other people staying there and everyone really enjoyed the meal. Being a vegetarian, I really appreciate how accommodating Ms. Noerr was when fixing my meals. The location was also a big plus as we were in walking distance to the downtown area. We went at a time when most things were closed (mid-January), but we enjoyed staying in our little house so much that we didn't mind! I would definitely recommend this B&B; in addition to our own experience we have heard nothing but good things about it!

We stayed for one night and morning in their garden room. Secluded room on the back of the house was lovely! 4 poster tester bed and furniture is beautiful, comfortable and very nice. Breakfast was fantastic! This inn has won "best breakfast" awards and I can tell you that it is true! Southern breakfast at it's best. My only disparaging remark would be the plumbing problems in our bathroom with the jacuzzi and shower. But overall it was a wonderful experience and I will be returning there with my wife again for another getaway!

After reviewing the letter forwarded to myself from these valued guests, I am hopeful any future guest will understand that the issues aforementioned are not specific to problems related to our Inn; and could have easily been resolved by simply managing the temperature of the output of water or understanding the positives related to our amenities greatly out way the few more moments it takes to facilitate the aforementioned. As we have attempted to create a relaxing environment by installing two-person Jacuzzi tubs in most of our rooms, where all needs are met or exceeded….it is completely understandable that the Jacuzzi’s require a small amount more time to fill than a standard bath tub. It is our thinking that the greater enjoyment of the two-person Jacuzzi, with a little bit more time to fill, is greater appreciated than the standard bath tub with no Jacuzzi Jets. My husband and I stayed here for a much-needed getaway between Christmas and New Year's. We also wanted to see the Christmas lights. Both were spectacular! The B&B was fabulous; so relaxing and peaceful. Our room was just beautiful. I can't think of anything about our stay that wasn't perfect. The staff was so welcoming. We felt very much at home. My wife and I were looking for a nice little weekend getaway and boy did we find the right place. Our stay was more than we both expected. My new husband and I came to the Judge Porter during the Christmas Festival for our honeymoon. Other than the cold, it snowed in New Orleans, it was a wonderful trip. The Guest House was comfy and cozy. I think our only complaint was the fountain in the garden that was close to our window. Ginger was our host the first couple of days and was a total sweetheart. Yetta was our host for the remainder of the stay and was also just as nice as could be. The food was fantastic. Louisana is a great place to vacation but Christmas time is especially wonderful. You have to come here. The house is located right in the historic district. Beautifully appointed and welcoming this is a great place to stay for a weekend or a week.

We lead busy lives and I thought a visit to this bed and breakfast would be nice -but Judge Porter House exceeded my expectations. I've stayed at a bed and breaksfast before and it was pleasurable-like being welcome guests in someone else's home; however, when we arrived at Judge Porter, we had the run of the place and felt like we were rattling around in our own wonderful place. It was really such a welcome interlude in our busy lives-with delightful things to see and even read during our stay. Every conceivable need or desire was taken care of-no corners cut on amenities. The food was delicious, the presentation of it made us feel like royalty. The grounds were lovely and I can imagine how beautiful it must be in spring. We enjoyed this beautiful town-the homely non-commercial spirit - and to spend our day around town then come back to the inn-made it all so complete. It really put a wonderful spin on what the holidays should be. I have four wonderful daughters and I will definitely return with them for memorable mother-daughter time next year! Beautiful decor and appointments in each room. We stayed in the Judge Porter room. The innkeeper and staff were very hospitable and gave us tips on what to tour in Natchitoches. They even showed us their other two properties because we wanted to see their rooms. Delectable, full breakfast each morning! A lovely week-end getaway. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. It was his first B&B stay and he really liked it a lot. Everything was really well done and all was in very good taste. The breakfast was wonderful! Was within walking distance to shops and river front and restaurants. Loved the upstairs floor plan. We were with another couple and the layout was just perfect with the sitting room to share but separate rooms and baths. The innkeeper was wonderful, nice and friendly. Even gave me a recipe. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in the guest house which was very comfortable and quiet. The establishmemt is very close to the action in town yet peacefull off the strip. Our breakfast chef was Yetta, and the breakfast meals were absolutely wonderful. We are from New Orleans, and at the risk of sounding a little boastful, our city creates the best food in the world. Normally one does not rave over breakfast, but Yetta came up with true gourmet dishes. This was a great experience for us which we will not forget. Thank you owner and staff.

House was lovely. Inkeeper, Yetta, was so sweet. Breakfast was fantastic. I overheard other locals and tourists talking about "the place to stay" and was proud to know that they were recommending the Judge Porter House. I met some people from the bed and breakfast nearby and they were jealous that they could not attend the breakfast but it is for guests only. It is so nice to sit on the porch and watch people take a tour of the city and point out where you are staying. This was my first stay at a bed and breakfast and would recommend doing it again. It is private, historic and first rate.

We were at the Judge Porter House on business. After so many business hotels, this place is simply heaven. The house is lovely, filled with period antiques. The rooms were huge, incredibly comfortable, and the bathrooms were bigger than my house! And the service was first rate. Breakfast was superb, was so sorry we only had it once (due to having to be up and out by 6:00 daily). I'd return any time just to stay here!!!

My mother, two sisters and I spent two days in Natchitoches celebrating my oldests sisters birthday. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. We loved having the beautiful rooms and sitting room to enjoy being together. The breakfast was lovely, and we enjoyed visiting with the other guests. You feel like you are Scarlett sleeping in the beautiful beds of yesteryear. The bathrooms were clean and updated. We just returned from spending three nights at the Judge Porter House. Talk about Southern Hospitality--it was five-plus stars! The rooms were beautiful, service excellent, and the breakfasts were incredible. The innkeeper, Yetta Noerr, treated each guest as her very best friend in the world! Staying at the Judge Porter House was like stepping back into history! We definitely plan to return to this charming bed and breakfast again and again!

My husband and I stayed there for a mini retreat. The home itself was beautiful and the garden and pool were gorgeous. Our room had a nice layout and the TV over the jacuzzi tub was convenient. We really liked the antique furniture and the bed was very comfortable. Our hostess, Yetta, really impressed me. She was very friendly and helpful on what to do and where to go. I also couldn't help asking for recipes on the breakfast courses we were served.

As our first B&B, the Judge Porter House met and exceeded all of our expectations. The two nights we spent in the beautiful Garden room were excellent and very relaxing. The breakfast each morning was delicious and the innkeepers were very hospitable toward all guests. The Jacuzzi tub and TV in the bathroom was a major plus and definitely added to the relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely be returning for a longer stay next summer!

Yetta's hospitality makes each stay at JPH delightful, delicious and fun! Tod management experitise is always gracious, available, and accommodating. I booked recently for my us and friends, have stayed at JPH prior and loved it. From our Garden Room proivate deck early each morn I had coffee and enjoyed the garden's beauty & peacefulness. Keys to come and go make it your own home. Have stayed in B&B's in US and Great Britain. JPH's gracious beauty, hosptiality and small college town loveliness puts it at the top! We love Yetta's delicious sitdown breakfast in the lovely dining room and visiting with other guest. Also a favorite is rocking and visiting in the big rockers on the front porch!

My wife & I had the best time at JP house last week - Yetta truly understands the nuances of hospitality & made everyone feel as though they were her only concern. Charles, a true character who took over for Yetta for a day, was also excellent. They both went the extra mile. The breakfasts were fabulous, the room & house were great - we should live this well at home! Hard to stay at a Holiday Inn after that experience.

My 11 year old granddaughter and I stayed at Judge Porter House in mid-July. This was her first time to visit a bed and breakfast and she thoroughly enjoyed it. The accomodations were wonderful and the hospitality shown by Yetta and the rest of the staff was exceptional. It is a great location and within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone visiting Natchitoches. We are planning another trip in the near future and will definitely stay here again.

Located in a lovely, quiet, tree lined area of the small town, the Judge Porter House provided a welcome relief from big city headaches. The bathroom was as large as the guest room and included both a large spa tub as well as glass enclosed shower. The staff was very attentive, professional and efficient and the check-in/out times are especially accomodating. If you are interested in staying close to the downtown area and enjoy a smaller, more homelike atmosphere, consider the JP House.

I thank my lucky stars that I chose the Judge Porter House for a stay in Nachitoches, Louisiana-it was simply a "stroke of luck" when I found it online at Nachitoches' Tourism website and selected it randomly from many Inns in this oldest city in Louisiana. Not only were the rooms lovely, our hostess made each guest feel very comfortable while maintaining an air of elegance. The breakfasts were served promptly at 8:30 a.m. each morning; early enough that we could linger over coffee and still have the day to see this lovely town without feeling that we had to rush around. Ms. Noerr is a vivacious hostess, while remaining professional. Each course was described in full, presented singly and with time between courses to fully enjoy each one. She and her staff wore white aprons that hinted of a fine dining experience! When we returned to our room, the bed was already made and linens replaced-I couldn't believe it! I certainly plan to go back; I felt totally relaxed and pampered!

This is a place that is convenient to Houston or Dallas and worth the 4 hour trip. My wife and I stayed in the guest house which is seperate from the main house itself. That was a great move on our part-the room was quiet and relaxing and very comfortable and the loft bedroom was a hoot! For our honeymoon, we reserved two nights in the Princess room at the Judge Porter House. Due to the outstanding treatment we received from the staff, we chose to extend our stay for one more night. We had a beautiful small wedding ceremony in the gardens of the JPH! It was absolutely wonderful. It is everything that I wanted it to be! We stayed in the guest house,that was a great way to spent our honeymoon! Very relaxing and peacful, not to mention the great views and service! I highly recommend the house to anyone. A gift from our children and grandchildren! We thoroughly enjoyed the historic and beautiful Judge Porter House! We found it to be the perfect place to stay in Nachitoches and be close to all we wanted to see and do. The breakfasts were delicious and exquitely served. The judge Porter House was my first time to stay at a B&B, but it will not be my last. It was a great experience and the Judge Porter House was a perfect choice. My husband and I have been back to the Judge Porter House for the last three of our four anniversary's...we LOVE staying there!! The house is BEAUTIFUL and VERY well maintained and we never want for anything. This last trip was our first time staying in the guest house and we will DEFINITELY be staying there again! It was PERFECT...quiet, cool, tucked away with all the amenitites we needed. Judge Porter House is also located close to Front Street shopping and TONS of shops, exhibits and eateries on Second Street. I could go on and on....you just have to see for yourself! The staff and Yetta are SUPER polite and are interested in treating you special and respecting your privacy. We will continue to come back :)

This was our first visit to Natchitoches and to a B&B. We definitely chose the right home! It was beautiful, Yetta was charming and most informative regarding places to eat & shop. It was a great experience. We had gone with 2 other couples at Judge Porter for Jazz Festival and 5 other couples at another B&B, but weekend was much more than that. We rated the service lower since we wanted a massage on one of the nights while we were there and receied no assistance in helping us schedule this. We have stayed at other B&B's that not only assisted us in finding someone in a place we knew nothing about but scheduled it for us. The dining experience, itself, was nice. We were disappointed with the food. We had enough to eat but expected a better choice of menu to match the quality of the house.

The house was elegant and comfortable at the same time. The rooms were nicely spread out so that even when all of them were full, guests were not tripping over each other. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the breakfast each morning was an indulgence. The only down side for us was the 8:30 a.m. breakfast seating because we're not really morning people. But that was a small price to pay for such a wonderful meal. We will definitely stay here again.

Judge Porter House proved to be an excellent place for a relaxing weekend. From the delightful decorating to the large, jacuzzi tub we enjoyed every minute of it.
