Deutsche Strasse (German Street) Bed and Breakfast

Enjoy Comfort, Cuisine and Gourmet Coffee in our 1884 home located in the historic district of New Ulm overlooking the Minnesota River Valley. Four blocks from downtown New Ulm's specialty and antique shops and unique restaurants. All guest rooms have private baths and air conditioning and some have fireplaces and whirlpools tubs. We are just a short distance from Schell's Brewery and the Morgan Creek Vineyards and Flandrau State Park. This home features eight types of wood in it woodwork, a marble fireplace, beveled glass French doors, and a baby grand piano that we welcome our guests to play. Gazing into the candle lit fireplace or watching our tropical fish in the fifty-five gallon tank are great therapies for relaxation. Our guests also enjoy reading books and magazines from our bookshelves, conversing with the innkeepers and other guests, playing games from our collection of board games, or just closing their eyes while listening to soft music from our CD selection.Our formal dining room is another room that our guests are welcome to use. Some groups have used it for playing cards or board games, while others have called for pizza delivery and used this area for enjoying their snack.
Our Welcome Room is occupied with a baby grand piano that we welcome our guests to play. Adjoining to this room are our living room, dining room and all-season sun porch. Many times our guests enjoy relaxation with the accompaniment of piano music while enjoying the ambiance of these rooms. We do have a resident pianist as well, who will sometimes make an appearance.Enjoy our all-season sun porch to relax in the evening in front of the fireplace with a goblet of wine, or in the morning to enjoy the sunrise. Breakfast is served in the cheery room at a time convenient for our guests on fine china and crystal.
Experience Romance in our Castle Room and enjoy feeling like Royalty! This is our most spacious room and it features a King-size bed and a sitting area for two around a cozy fireplace. Come and relax while our "Silent Knight" keeps watch. Your private quarters include a private bath with a pedestal sink and rain shower.Enjoy the luxury of soaking in this large whirlpool for two while gazing at the details of our fanciful Black Forest. This room is part of our Black Forest Suite and also has a fireplace to ad extra ambiance. The separate, cozy bedroom is decorated with items from the Black Forest and has a pillow-top queen-sized bed for that final comfort of the evening.
This favorite retreat of our gnome and part of the Black Forest Suite is your private room with a hot tub, fireplace and leather bench. We provide cozy terrycloth robes in which to relax.Many of our guests rave when tasting our signature Bavarian Omelet.
