Captain Lindsey House
Nestled amongst the historic seaport buildings of Rockland, the nine room Captain Lindsey House, built in 1832 as Captain George Lindsey's private home, was opened to the public in 1837 as one of Rockland's first Inns. We offer a quiet, comfortable and cozy retreat from your day's activities. Meticulous care is evident in each of our spacious rooms, offering modern amenities without infringing upon the grace of our antique furnishings. Imagine a lovely roadside English Inn, or a Sea Captain's home in the early 1800's, filled with artifacts and furnishings from all parts of the world. Sit by the warmth of a fire in our cozy living room and enjoy afternoon tea in our private outdoor secret garden, or stroll along historic Main Street.Wake up to a delicious full English breakfast in our beautiful breakfast room.
