Scarborough Fair B&B
Scarborough Fair Bed & Breakfast is perfectly situated for business and pleasure travelers. Located in the heart of the historic district of Federal Hill, only 2 blocks from the Inner Harbor, 4 blocks from the Convention Centers and central business district, and a short walk to the sports venues. Scarborough Fair is a Georgian-style building. Its gabled and dormered roof and bricks laid in Flemish bond indicate it is one of the oldest structures in the neighborhood, dating to 1801. A block east on Montgomery, one can view the original cobblestone paving typical of the area in the 1800¿s. One block further, the visitor who climbs the steps to Federal Hill is rewarded with the best panoramic view of the Baltimore harbor. Also nearby in the Federal Hill community are wonderful small bistros, quaint shops and the renowned Cross Street Market, where residents and visitors shop for fresh meats, produce and seafood. Relax in your room upon arrival and take with you a complimentary beverage from the dining room cupboard, where ice in abundance is always available. In late afternoon, you¿ll find sweet treats in the dining room as well. Pull something from the shelf of the cozy library/gathering room - perhaps a volume which tells you the history of Federal Hill, or a brochure suggesting activities for your stay.

We always appreciate when guests inform us of ways we can enhance their stays. And many have had wonderful stays, as can be seen by the large amount of nearly perfect scores we have received here.
The only complaint this guest had was when calling us at 10:30 PM to grumble that the homemade cookies we have out every day were all eaten and he wanted some. I explained that I would be baking more the next day but that did not seem to satisfy him. (I hate to think this is all due to his staying out late and not getting any cookies. Perhaps he was upset that we expressed our difficulty with accepting a Large Amount of loose change from this a son's dresser top as partial payment of the bill. In the end we did accept this since he did not have time to go to a bank.)
Our coffee and breakfasts are fantastic. Other guests eating the same meal, drinking from the same pot of coffee all expressed their great joy with our offerings.
When staying in a city, there is a definite rhythm and background hum of activity. In any home that is at street level, you will have a bit of that sound. Most guests are surprised at how quiet their rooms are.
As part of being more eco-conscious, we replace shampoos, conditioners and body butters only when less than half is remaining and his were very much at least half full. If a guest needs more of anything, we are always happy to accommodate.
It is very sad for us when a guest will not give us the opportunity to make their stay a delightful one by not communicating his or her needs even when asked, but prefers to make venomous reports on TripAdvisor.com and Bedandbreakfast.com to satisfy their bullying nature.
We hope you will continue to read our many, many reviews and see that it is our guests that have made us what we are today, thanks to their praises, ideas and constructive criticism.
We know that you will have a great stay when you are here as so very many other guests have had.

We are very sorry not only that this guest did not enjoy our inn as much as many others have, but also did not tell us in person of their feelings in order to give us the opportunity to resolve them.
Firmness of mattresses, pillows, etc is a very objective and personal thing and many of our guests have commented to us in person how very well they slept and how wonderfully comfortable their bed was. (You can read in many of our reviews here and on other travel review sites about how comfortable their rooms/beds are.)
We appreciate this guests input as we always strive to meet everyone's needs both now and in the future.
