In November, 2009, 5 girlfriends and I spent the weekend at Casa de San Pedro. We had a fantastic time! The rooms were wonderful - clean, comfortable, and beautifully furnished. We especially enjoyed the living room/sitting room areas and the meals were fantastic. I can highly recommend the Cooking Classes with Lark. And finally, Karl and Patrick are wonderful hosts who take good care of their guests and make everyone feel comfortable and welcome. We will definitely come back soon.

Casa de San Pedro is a charming, Hacienda style setting, right here in southeast Arizona! It takes you back to a day when things were a little less frantic. The Casa is a peaceful and inviting place, where you can enjoy the wonderful views surrounding the grounds, relax by the pool (or enjoy those glistening bright blue water of the pool or spa). Don't forget the beauty of the Courtyard, Where you can set at a table, just outside your door, and enjoy the variety of flowers and watch the hummingbirds make their rounds. By the way, there are owls and other species of birds, as well, to view. The wonderful gormet breakfasts are fantastic! The variety of food is great. The love that these meals are made with is priceless. Afternoons are blessed with Homemade goodies (pies and cookies). Mouthwatering, to say the least. Karl and Patrick are the most gracious hosts! We feel as if we have come to visit friends...and indeed we have! They are always available to assist in any way that they can, to make your stay the best. Karl and Patrick have a great Staff. The friendly Staff keep everything spotless. They are gracious when you need something. All I can tell you, is that you will have a fulfilling stay in a wonderful nature filled area (this with wonderful hosts and staff). Ella Louise Wallace, Phoenix

the design of the building is so conducive to relaxation and comfort. Even the smallest details are carefully thought out -- such as a cd player alarm clock. Food is outstanding, including wonderful home-made pies and cookies. Also, extra guest services provided such as a fridge and laundry facility really make this a stand-out B&B I can't think of a more relaxing place than sitting outside the room overlooking the courtyard at night with the lights from the fountain dancing on the beautiful garden.

Karl and Patrick have created a wonderful respite from one's hectic lifestyle. The breakfasts are the very best the dishes being homemade and from fresh ingredients. The beautiful inner garden attracts many hummingbirds, butterflies, bees. The water feature adds to the restful ambience. Bring your own food and drink, use their grill, and you needn't go to a restaurant. This is one of our very favorite B&B's!

The Casa is really a small private mansion that accepts guests, the food is terrific and the hospitality from Carl and Patrick is in the top 1% of B&Bs. They set us up for a guided bird walk in the San Pedro river bosque: 49 species, all new to us. We plan to return.

Breakfast was outstanding, with fresh fruit, a baked muffin or sweet bread, and a different and yummy main dish every day. On top of this wonderful breakfast are pies and cookies baked (from scratch) every day and available throughout the day. What more could you want? Oh, and the birds are everywhere - at the feeders and along the San Pedro River corridor, just a short walk from the inn's door. To a birder, this place is heaven; for everyone else, it would probably be heaven too.

The breakfasts are a wonderful treat, and on returning later in the day there are always fresh pies and cookies ready and the coffee and tea urns on. For birders, there are feeders and seats to watch scattered about, and out the yard gate trails to the San Pedro River for early morning walks before breakfast and then trips to other nearby hotspots. Patrick and Karl can help with suggesting nearby restaurants and even making reservations and with suggesting guides for birders who wish help in finding the local specialties. We have returned several times and would recommend this B & B highly!

Awesome location for birding access - you don't even need to drive anywhere due to its proximity to the San Pedro NCA through the gate! More than a B&B as they offered in-house Mexican dinners (on certain nights which we had the opportunity to experience), coffee/tea and desserts 24-hrs, free laundry acess, and lovely common areas. This was our second stay at the Casa and it was all we remembered and more. Patrick and Karl are delightful hosts: present, informative and gracious. All a nature lover could want is here, with quiet, hiking, flora and fauna, river and desert so near at hand. Karl and Patrick have amassed a large library of books and magazines which are available to guests; the dogs, cody and Shadow, are 'oh so friendly' but never in the way and provide a nice touch of hominess; the food is exquisite and wholesome. (well, the homemade afternoon pies and cookies are never _that_ wholesome but who cares when they taste so good!) A wonderful feature this year was the availability of a guest refrigerator to store lunch/dinner food, and grills to cook it on! That was a very welcome addition! We love the comfortable rooms, the beauty of the surroundings and the variety of guests who co-habit the Casa with us. We always find folks with whom we keep in touch later! We enjoy Karl and Partick as well as the all of amenitiesand excellent food. The staff and 4 legged companions that show thier gentle presence now and again are also very friendly. There is nothing I would not change about our experience there.

My husband and I chose the Casa de San Pedro from their website and it exceeded our expectations! The hotel was in a wonderful setting with beautiful furnishings in the common areas, rooms were comfortable with excellent beds, linens, and amenities. The breakfasts were extaordinary! The owners, Patrick and Karl were very friendly and knowledgable about the wildlife and local attractions. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend the Casa to anyone needing to stay in southeastern Arizona!

Although only a few hours from our home, coming here is a true vacation, and we love it. You can be a tourist, a birder, or just lay around the pool until its time for more homemade fruit pie. Better yet, come down for one of Karl and Patrick's special dinners. We came back and so will you.

I gave two nights at Casa de San Pedro to my birdwatching mother as a belated 90th birthday present. We arrived the day after a snowstorm had swept through southern Arizona, and I had my doubts about the success of the trip. Karl ushered us into our delightful, spacious room and a warm, relaxing tone was set for the rest of the trip. There were delicious baked goodies available 24/7 as well as coffee and tea. We read and knitted in front of the gas fireplace the first night and could not have been more comfortable. Although the birding wasn't at its prime, we had a wonderful time exploring the area thanks to Patrick and Karl's tips. They are superb hosts, low key, but there to talk and help you if you need it. We loved the decor, the bountiful breakfasts, and the ambience there. We even made reservations to come back for three nights in September when we can take advantage of the many outdoor areas at Casa de San Pedro and enjoy warmer birding as well. Our entire experience was delightful. Thank you, Karl and Patrick!

When we first tried to make reservations for our anniversary, this place was booked. So we went a week ahead of our anniversary date. The room was perfect and so were all the accommodations. Karl & Patrick, Shadow & Cody made us feel so welcome. They both are fantastic hosts and chefs! They have a perfect blend of knowing exactly when to be around. We came to spend our anniversary with an elderly person living in Sierra Vista that had witnessed our hurry up wedding in 1990 due to Desert Storm. We spent 4 days here but on our last day Patrick remembered this reason for our visit even though we made the reservations months before and he surprised us with a cake. I don't know how they did it but we also had a beautiful full moon that provided romantic walks and talks. We loved the quiet and gentle nature that surrounds this location and its hosts. We were so sad to leave and even now long to return. No phone, no television, no internet in our room. We thought how will we bare it...........but we never missed it. We had restful nights and pleasant conversations in common areas. This place has great visitors and even though we were not "birders", we left with a new awareness and appreciation. We knew this area well from previously living in Sierra Vista from the late 1977-1992. There were many changes. Some good, some bad but the Inn was where we found ourselves yearning to return each time we ventured out. Our best meal outside the Inn was in Bisbee at Cafe Roka. We can't recommend this place any higher. We will soon be planning a return to this place that felt and smelled like our best memories of home.......only better! Joe & Donna Green, Madison, Alabama

My wife loves antiques, wine, photography, and solitude. For labor day I found the perfect place. It's near Siera Vista, AZ along the San Pedro River. My wife was able to photograph birds that are not seen in our area. We took a drive into wine country and stocked up on some of her favorite wines. We came back to the B&B to relax in the courtyard and drink some wine and read a book. The next day I took her to Bisbee to look at Antiques and some superb work of various artists. When we returned we found a bottle of wine in our room. Our hosts wanted to congratulate my wife on her birthday. I'm diabetic and the hosts fixed me a sugarfree apple pie. It was so good that I only was able to eat 2 of the 8 slices as everyone else loved it too. My wife said this was the best birthday present I've ever given her in our 29 years of marriage. We'll be back in April for my birthday!

You could feel the peace and tranquility as soon as you entered the property; No personal need was forgotten and many that aren't provided at hotels were there in our room. Karl and Patrick made you feel welcome even when I was many hours late. The pictures on the internet do not fully depict the beauty of the property. The breakfast was delicious and the evening pastries were scrumptious and I loved them. Can't think of any other place I would want to stay at if/when I return to that part of the country!

This is our most favorite place to stay in Arizona. The place is beautiful, the food outstanding and the inn keepers make you feel like you are family. We have returned here many times with friends and family. Southern Arizona is a beautiful part of the state and this is the most perfect place to stay.

Review Casa de San Pedro Bed & Breakfast Inn, Hereford, AZ

Photo Album

The inviting territorial inn features custom furnishings in each room - handcrafted furniture from Mexico, custom linens, and tile baths - the perfect hidaway for relaxing and savoring the wonders of nature in comfort.A gourmet breakfast is served each morning in the dining room - featuring mexican tiled floors, dramatic art work, birds dancing just outside the windows at feeders - and the breakfasts are always hearty and healthy!
The inn resides on 10 acres adjacent to the San Pedro River, away from the crowd (well, the birds and other natural inhabitants are quite a crowd to behold!). The perfect place to relax, view 100s of birds, hike. Don't forget to bring your binoculars and camera! (and leave your stress behind!)All our guest rooms front onto the interior garden and fountain. Sit at the table outside your room and enjoy the flowers, fountain sounds, and the many birds that frolic in the courtyard.
