The Azalea House was honored in 1998 to set the stage for the bed and breakfast promotion of the year by the Minute Maid Orange Juice Company. The Inn has been featured in Florida Living, County and Florida Heritage Magazines as well as on the cover of a special edition of an American Historic Inns guidebook!
Built by the grandson of Vice President John C. Calhoun in 1878 and poised under one hundred year old oaks sits the magnificent Queen Anne Victorian we call the Azalea House. This painted lady is in the heart of Palatka's Historic District and two blocks from the St. John's River. Through the massive front doors you can find original woodwork along with a grand three story staircase. An on site gift shop features supplies for all your counted cross stitch needs-specializing in reproduction samplers. Over 200 pieces of needlework are showcased throughout the 3 floors of the Inn. Large rooms decorated with antiques and beautiful furnishings offer total comfort.
