I meant to write this review a year ago, but now, after a second five day visit, I can write it with even more enthusiasm and authority. Five stars.
There are just four rooms here, each quite different but all completely appointed and clean and fresh as a daisy. They are invitingly comfortable. We didn’t check the labels, but my guess is that the thread count on the linens runs to four digits.
The house itself is an architectural jewel. It’s a fine stone house finished inside with rubbed oak, in a style that is close to Craftsman. The attention to fit and finish is meticulous. Like the rooms, everything is always clean and freshly dusted. The woodwork fairly glows in the downstairs sitting room and dining rooms. In Pennsylvania’s warm, humid summer, the air conditioned house is a cool oasis.
Owner, innkeeper and chef Gilja Kusan produces simply wonderful breakfasts. Each morning holds a new surprise as well as endless coffee. She herself could not be nicer or more helpful.
This recommendation from an experienced road warrior is unqualified. This is where we’ll return whenever in the area.
