Having visited B&Bs across the U.S., I would definitely place the Cameo Rose in my top 5 list. As many have mentioned, Dawn was incredibly knowledgeable about the area -- sending us to the perfect places for hiking, shopping, and restaurants. Her recommendations were perfect and made our trip so much more then we expected. Though we didn't have time to hike their 120 acres, what we did see of the gardens and landscaping was beautiful. Breakfasts at the Cameo Rose are gourmet, and returning to the inn after a long day to home-baked treats and warm cider makes you feel like you are staying with friends. If you are in the area, don't miss a chance to stay at the Cameo Rose!

I've gotten rather fond of staying in B&Bs - that comes from someone who travels for business all the time. CameoRose is definitely one of my favorites now. The breakfasts Dawn cooks up are not to be believed (there went the diet!) and she had her husband, Gary, are just the nicest folks you could meet. With downtown Madison just a short drive away, what a delight to have found myself in such a secluded spot!

We were with another couple and had 2 rooms reserved mid week. The place was very clean and exceptionally quiet. Breakfast was included, very well presented and prepared. The location was on 120 acres close to Madison, WI and well suited to our needs as a base of operation to tour the State Capital, Governor's Mansion and other venues. Dawn, the host was very helpful in giving us directions and road short cuts. The inn was very well appointed with comfortable beds and rooms. The grounds were well maintained with ample hiking trails. Worth returning.

If you want to be treated like royalty, Cameo Rose is the place to go. We spent 3 nights there & were showered with wonderful hospitality, scrumptous food & lemonaide, beautiful grounds & scenery. The gazebo's & pond with waterfall were a treat to enjoy in the evening. A wide variety of wild birds to enjoy from the porch, gazebo or just going for a walk on a trail. We have stayed at many B&B's in the U.S. and abroad, and the Cameo Rose is our favorite of all. Fantastic food, lovely rooms, charming and attentive hosts, gorgeous grounds and gardens, an easy drive to many excellent restaurants; I could go on and on. Especially wonderful is that it is always getting better. A recent addition, a pond with waterfalls, added another lovely place to sit and relax outside. We always have a perfect time when we go there.

The drive up to the property is right out of the movies! Every detail of this new home takes you comfortably and graciously back to Victorian times. Dawn welcomed us with ice tea and lemonade. Her handmade china dolls are exquisite and cheerfully brighten up the rooms. The surrounding area and ethnic villages were delightful as was the delicious breakfast. We were traveling for business and celebrating my 60th birthday. We started in Sparta at the Frankllin Victorian Inn ,which we love. and stayed at three other B and B's inbetween, including the acclaimed Aberdeen Inn in IN. From the tranquilty of past eras and personal pampering (including accomodating our special dietary needs) to the access of today's technology the Franklin and the Cameo Rose outshined all the rest!! When our ladies bike trip kept shrinking in size because of injuries, Cameo Rose's innkeeper was extremely accomodating in rearranging rooms for us. And what a treat to be met at the door with homemade lemonade and brownies when returned from our ride! Breakfasts were outstanding and the setting lovely - a great vacation spot!

My husband and I celebrated our December 27 anniversary at the Cameo Rose in January. We enjoyed the wonderful breakfast and a brisk hike on snow covered trails through the woods. We really enjoyed our stay and would like to return during another season.

The owners are very nice and interesting people. The four-course breakfast(s) are out of this world!!! The property and home is gorgeous. We walked the trails on the property and biked on the trails in the area. New Glarus is a fun town to visit and shop and dine. We were only a short distance from Madison and were able to find a movie theatre close by! I highly recommend this BnB!

My wife and I can’t say enough about the wonderful experience that the Cameo Rose Victorian Country Inn (Belleville, WI) provides its visitors. Just a 15 minute drive south of Madison, the 120 acre country setting on rolling hills and the design of the beautiful home, coupled with the well thought out décor makes for a serene getaway that’s hard to beat. And wait until your palate partakes of the four course breakfast that Dawn prepares! You come away from that wanting to plan a future trip back another season from now. With so many nearby places of interest to satisfy the explorer in all of us, this is one Bed & Breakfast you DON’T want to miss. In all our B&B experiences, this stands alone at the top. My husband and I were celebrating our 30th anniversary and couldn't have picked a more beautiful/romantic spot to spend it. Dawn was exremely kind and recommended a fabulous restaurant for dinner and went out of her way to make the reservations and requested a table by the window for a view of the lake and sunset. She greeted us with fresh squeezed lemonade and delicious homebaked cookies. The room was beautiful and we were very pleased with the king sized bed since that is what we have at home and a number of inns only have queens. The breakfast was truly amazing and Gary and Dawn are such delightful people and couldn't have been more hospitable. Enjoyed this experience immensely and would definitely go back and highly recommend this B&B to everyone. They should be very proud of their Inn because it is truly spectacular and you can see that they take great pride in their house and grounds. Also it was so quiet and peaceful so much better than a sometimes noisy hotel.
