My wife and I have stayed at various bed & breakfast all over the southeast -- and the Mayor's Mansion is definitely one of our favorites. There are several things that makes this particular inn stand out: - Hospitality & Service - the staff is very friendly and immediately make you feel like you're visiting family that just happen to live in a very nice house. We grew to know and love the staff members on our first visit, and the relationship has grown on subsequent visits. It now feels like a homecoming any time we visit. - Breakfast - Their breakfast is always an experience. I mentioned a fondness for pork products on our first visit, and they have created innovative and humorous ways of presenting my breakfast . . . getting more creative and funny upon each visit. This Halloween they made me a "haunted pork house" - Architecture & location - Staying in this inn makes you feel as if you are royalty. Each room is unique, beautifully decorated, and the ambience of the entire house is elegant and classic. It is indeed a trip to another time and place, and a social upgrade to royal VIP status. The surrounding Fort Wood neighborhood adds to the historic feel, as the entire street is a trip to another time and place. - Location, location, location - I had passed through Chattanooga in the 70's and early 80's, and had seen Rock City and eaten at the Choo Choo. . . but it wasn't a place I ever considered staying. Well, I stumbled through Chattanooga a few years ago and was shocked at the stunning makeover. It's now one of my favorite cities, with wonderful restaurants, art, atmosphere, and history -- and the shimmering diamond is the Mayor's Mansion Inn. To get the full Chattanooga experience, this is a place that must be experienced. There are many more things I can say, but you really have to experience it yourself! Take a trip to Chattanooga and stay at this wonderful B & B -- you won't regret it!

We just happened up on this place as we had an extra night in Chattanooga. The service was great, the girl that greeted us was very nice and knowledgeable of the Inn and Chattanooga. The coffee was outstanding and they even brewed up a pot just for me upon our arrival. The man who worked the night shift was excellent, providing pleasant conversation and also helping with our bags. A very nice touch to end our stay in the Chattanooga area!!

We had a nice 2 night stay here in July. The house looks amazing when you drive up and when you go in is really grand and you immediately feel you've made a good choice. The room was fine with a good sized bathroom. The breakfast was ok, but not brilliant or gourmet. I stupidly forgot to tell them I was vegetarian on the first morning. I was profusely apologetic, but even with that, the girl cooking that morning was clearly very annoyed with us and stormed out of the kitchen to tell us... not good... The guy serving had a much better attitude and nothing was a problem to him. If you have a car, everything is close and Chattannooga is easy to find your way around.

The property is beautiful and well-kept. The breakfast was delicious. A great place to stay in Chattanooga! The service is professional, though not as personal as some bed and breakfasts where we have stayed, though a little privacy may be exactly what you want.

Extraordinary service! Loved the lock system on the room doors. Only critique is that we would have preferred that the afternoon "tea time" be an hors d’oeuvre rather than cake. Otherwise, flawless!

Our stay at the Mayor's Mansion Inn was memorable. I took my daughter for a trip, and she was very impressed with the Inn. We loved the history of the house, and the hosts were exceptional. If we needed anything, like directions or advice on local restaurants or ice for our room, they were always ready and willing to assist us. The Inn is a 5 minute drive from downtown on a quiet street. We felt like we were a part of the neighborhood and enjoyed the older homes surrounding the Inn. I would recommend this Inn.

Can't say enough about the service, welcomed at the door with a tour of the inn. Local info and directions provided on preprinted cards for the asking. Rooms were fantastic, wife is already making plans to return with friends.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful. Best of all are the delicious breakfasts! We felt like royalty. They actually have a chef and a 3 course breakfast. It was one of our favorite B & B's on our 39 day trip across the U.S.

The Inn is beautiful and the staff was friendly and attentive. The breakfasts were delicious. Downtown Chattanooga is fun, but watch out for panhandlers. We were startled by 2 of them one night. We are not used to street noise and I had trouble sleeping both nights due to all the car and truck traffic.

Guests may relax in the Tiffany Dining Room where breakfast is served daily in true Victorian elegance. Mayor's Library - Guests may enjoy afternoon tea or a game of checkers. During the winter months they will enjoy the cozy fireplace with a good book or amiable companion. Either way this room is asking to be enjoyed.
