My wife and I have stayed at various bed & breakfast all over the southeast -- and the Mayor's Mansion is definitely one of our favorites.
There are several things that makes this particular inn stand out:
- Hospitality & Service - the staff is very friendly and immediately make you feel like you're visiting family that just happen to live in a very nice house. We grew to know and love the staff members on our first visit, and the relationship has grown on subsequent visits. It now feels like a homecoming any time we visit.
- Breakfast - Their breakfast is always an experience. I mentioned a fondness for pork products on our first visit, and they have created innovative and humorous ways of presenting my breakfast . . . getting more creative and funny upon each visit. This Halloween they made me a "haunted pork house"
- Architecture & location - Staying in this inn makes you feel as if you are royalty. Each room is unique, beautifully decorated, and the ambience of the entire house is elegant and classic. It is indeed a trip to another time and place, and a social upgrade to royal VIP status. The surrounding Fort Wood neighborhood adds to the historic feel, as the entire street is a trip to another time and place.
- Location, location, location - I had passed through Chattanooga in the 70's and early 80's, and had seen Rock City and eaten at the Choo Choo. . . but it wasn't a place I ever considered staying. Well, I stumbled through Chattanooga a few years ago and was shocked at the stunning makeover. It's now one of my favorite cities, with wonderful restaurants, art, atmosphere, and history -- and the shimmering diamond is the Mayor's Mansion Inn. To get the full Chattanooga experience, this is a place that must be experienced.
There are many more things I can say, but you really have to experience it yourself! Take a trip to Chattanooga and stay at this wonderful B & B -- you won't regret it! View Reviewer Info
