This was the first time for our "girls" trip. We couldn't have found a more wonderful place to stay. The breakfast's by Claude, with Lisa's help, were incredible and something to look forward to each morning. The house is historic with beauty and charm. The owners have thought of everything to make a guests' stay perfect and just like they had the amenities of home. This was my 2nd visit (stayed with a friend last fall) to Magnolia and the 1st for my husband - everything was wonderful and as I expected my husband loved it too! Claude & Lisa run a first-rate B&B - you can depend on it! The gourmet breakfast was superb - fresh juice, homemade scones, scrambled egg casserole, german sausage & blueberry pancakes! The sitting areas and our room were perfectly clean and organized with wonderful little touches which we appreciated: freshly baked cookies at arrival, wines, teas, cider, sodas & water always available, flashlights near the bed, cabinet stocked with necessities in case we forgot something. If you're not a fan of claw-foot tubs, rest assured they have done a terrifice job with the shower attachment - the best I've seen! At breakfast, we were impressed but not surprised that several of the others had been coming to the Magnolia for years - one couple has come twice a year for 9 years! P.S. Don't miss a visit to Wildseed Farms just outside of town & Rather Sweet Bakery on the main street! We enjoyed dinner at the Cabernet Grill too.

The Magnolia House Bed and Breakfast was one of the best I have ever stayed and. My husband I always try to stay at a bed and breakfast when we travel and this one was GREAT. The food was wonderful and there was more than enough to fill you up and all home cooking. There were always mid afternoon homemade baked goods for a snack and there were always drinks of all kinds any time you wanted. My husband and I enjoyed borrowing a movie from their collection and relaxing on our room in the evening watching a movie. The owners were very knowledgeable about the town and things to see and do. It was very clean and very much like home you are made to feel VERY WELCOME. I would recomend this to anyone traveling to Fredericksburg.

Lisa and Claude were very hospitable from the moment we arrived. We received a historical, logistical tour of the house and its amenities along with recommendations for dinner. Our quarters were just beautiful and clean, clean, clean. Breakfast the next morning was outstanding and gourmet served on antique china with crystal and silver sides. Our stay at Magnolia House was a surprise birthday present for me. We had never stayed at a B&B before and did not know what to expect. WOW!! The home and the grounds are in excellent condition. Claude and Lisa are wonderful hosts. We had one of the suites and it felt almost like home with a private entrance and private bathroom. Claude and Lisa had beverages & snacks available at all times. Claude Saunders did an amazing job with gourmet 2-course breakfast served on different china each morning of our stay. This was our first experience at a bed and breakfast so we were not sure what to expect. What we got was a wonderful experience which has turned us on to B&B's versus the mainstream hotel/motel route. We were put to ease from the moment we walked in the door. We were greeted with warmth and given a tour of the facilities which were much nicer than we ever would have imagined. The facilities were top notch from the bedrooms, to the common areas both inside (full of snacks, reading and movie materials) and outside (wonderful garden area complete with coy pond and outdoor fireplace). The Bedrooms we stayed in had a separate living room and bathroom areas and were decorated beautifully. We had a full suite of bathroom items all ready in the room in case we had forgotten anything. The Breakfast Service was included as was phenomenal as each morning we were greeted with new and exciting meals which were absolutely wonderful. Claude and Lisa (The Owners) were extremely helpful long before we got there as they made the reservation process smooth and got us all of our dinner reservations throughout our stay well ahead of time, thanks to them listing all of the dining options on their website. Fredericksburg is a quiet little getaway in wine country in which you can take a wine tour to any of the 20 local wineries, or just enjoy the multitude of shopping available in all the shops around town, we did both! The B&B is located just off the Main street and is very close to everything you need to enjoy your weekend getaway, if you can pull yourself away from the amenities the B&B's offers!

We had the last room available which had a private bath that was located in the hallway. The room was fine but having to go out into the hall to use the bathroom was less than ideal. Claude and Lisa are incredible hosts who see to your every need and think of everything - snacks, beverages, toiletries far beyond what other places make available, plush robes, comfortable and well-appointed rooms, reading materials, movies, tourist information, the list goes on and on! And the breakfasts!!!! We got to enjoy a homemade gourmet breakfast every morning that was better than any other B&B and better than most upscale restaurants. My husband and I planned to sleep in while we were there, but once we tasted breakfast, we were at the table each morning! While not decorated in our personal style, it had everything we could possibly want or need including a great view of the pretty backyard. We will definitely be back!

Even though it was not Spring yet, the outdoor area was very attractive and enjoyable as we sat and had a drink by the waterfall with gold fish swimming in it and rocked in the double seated rod iron swings. In our room, the windows were open because it was a beautiful day and I love having the fresh air sweep through the beautiful room. Every evening, a fresh batch of homemade cookies were made for the guest and you could enjoy a glass of wine as well.

The week's stay at this B&B far exceeded my expectations. Lisa & Claude were the ultimate hostess and host. They personally greeted us, took us on a tour of the house and showed us to the room where a every afternoon snack is available along with a refrigerator stocked full of water, cans of sodas and white wine. We had a wonderful time in Fredricksburg, TX and loved our stay at the Magnolia House. The house was very clean and comfortable. We stayed in the Bluebonnet room that has a private entrance as well as a small kitchenette that was stocked with a fridge full of drinks and a coffee pot with coffee, tea or hot chocolate. There was also a separate living area from the bedroom that allowed my early rising husband to watch the news while I got a few extra minutes of beauty rest. Claude and Lisa Saunders were perfect hosts. They were very knowledgeable about the local points of interest and while being very friendly, they were not intrusive. My husband and I spent our first night as a married couple at the Magnolia House and it was an outstanding experience. We champaign, chocolate and a nice congratulations card waiting for us in our room when we arrived! The room was extremely comfortable, service was impeccable and the food, superb. I am looking forward to our next escapade to Fredericksburg, when we will definitely choose the Magnolia House again.

We completely enjoyed our visit. Breakfast was fabulous! I loved having the afternoon snack and drink cooler. We hope to make it back at some point. I loved the movie collection and both were very sweet and friendly. We really felt at home. They gave us chocolates and a card for our anniversary were also very sweet.

We truly enjoyed our stay. We have stayed at many B&B’s and the Magnolia House ranks right at the top. Clalude and Lisa home was great! You two know your business and it shows in every little detail: from the room, to the grounds, to the food( great food!), wine, cookies, to trip supplies to just anything that we could ever need. We were given our visit to the Magnolia House as a gift from our children--What a wonderful experience we had! The owners are so gracious and the Bluebonnet suite we stayed in was decorated to the max and we enjoyed having our own little kitchenette. The breakfast is worth waking up for and the peacefullness of the outdoor surroundings is so relaxing. Claude's afternoon baked goodies will tempt even those on a diet to taste-Yum, Yum! When we arrived we were greeted by Lisa and received the warmest welcome. She gave us a lovely tour of the home. We were made to feel as though we were family. Our room was fabulous! The room, linens and bathroom all exceeded my expectations. The refrigerator was stocked with cold drinks, white wine, bottled water, fresh baked lemon cookies greeted us when we arrived in our room! Our stay at the Magnolia House was by far the very best evening we have ever spent at a B&B! Claude's homemade breakfast was also by far the most fabulous we have had! Our first experience at a B&B was at The Magnolia House in Fredericksburg and it definitely won't be our last visit! Not knowing what to expect, we received a warm welcome from Claude and Lisa. Everything from the chocolate kisses in our room to the homemade cookies and hot chocolate before bed gave us a cozy feeling of spending the weekend with friends. Our room was spacious, clean, and very bright and overlooked the fish pond in the backyard. My favorite part of the room was the attached attic bathroom! Lunch was never needed as Claude prepared a huge breakfast each morning (I bought the cookbook so that I might attempt to re-create some of his recipes!). The best B&B in Fredericksburg! Guests are pampered beyond belief! We walked in, end of a hot day, and there were homemade cookies waiting for us, cold drinks in the frig, and wine was waiting. Our room was fully stocked with everything you'd want in a nice hotel, including beautiful robes in the closet. The B&B was spotless. Guests have the whole house to enjoy. The breakfasts rank as fine dining. This is a first class operation and you won't be disapponted. Very quiet neighborhood away from the main drag, which has a lot of traffic.

This was my second visit to Magnolia House since the first visit was so extra special. I stayed in a suite on both visits and enjoyed the cleanliness, extra details and at home atmosphere of my room. Also, being able to access several parts of the house, dining room, living area & lovely pond & yard , made the visit very relaxing. The two course breakfast was wonderful and eating with the other guests all together made for interesting conversation. Claude & Lisa really make you feel at home !

This was the best B&B experience we've ever had. From the moment of contacting the owners directly to book a room, until check-out, everything was flawless. Magnolia House is a 1920's country home perfectly converted into a B&B. This house has 5 rooms, each with a private bath. Room values are very good. You are made to feel at home from the moment you step inside. Everything was spotless. The property has a garden and koi pond where guests can relax as if they were in their own backyard. Snacks, refreshments, and wine were complimentary in the afternoons and evenings. In the morning with the other guests we had the most delightful 2 course breakfast prepared by the owner himself. Fresh pinnapple with blackberries and pasteries for the 1st course, and the most delicious fresh strawberry country-style pancakes with a poached eggs and ham for the 2nd course. i highly recommend this gem in Fredericksburg, TX.

After some big hotels in huge towns the change to bed and breakfast Magnolia was just my wife and I needed as much. The venue was first class, calm neighbourhood, first class owners. The breakfast was beyond our expectations. The owners were helpful with giving ideas where to go for visiting, shopping and restaurants. I one want to go to Fredericksburg, the place to be is Magnolia. We surely will recommend to our friends if the go and visit Texas.

We loved our trip to the Texas Hill Country, which was highlighted by our stay at Magnolia House. We had room to spread out in our own private suite, but also found the common areas of the house to be charming and a good place to relax and unwind after a day of sightseeing.
