Wow, What a nice change taking place at the Inn of the White Salmon. Seems the new owners are prepared to take this place to new levels. The Inn boasts a new Family Room with all new furniture, carpet and fresh paint. Even a big screen TV and X Box 360. No shoes allowed in the newly remodled room, and that was fine with me as I elevated my feet onto a smartly placed coffee table and watched a little sports on the 42 inch screen. I even enjoyed a glass on local wine from the Inn Keeper's list of recommendations. Some of the rooms are undergoing remodel, like the new Alpine Hostel Room. What fun, a taste of Europe, with a well thought arrangement of beds and lockers. Only $25.00 per night for the Hostel Beds. I had the room to myself and ended up with a private rooming at a budget price. I paid the $10.00 extra for their new hardy, healthy breakfast. The private rooms are nice too. They all have in suite bathrooms :) I rode on the BRT Van up to Mt Hood Meadows and found fresh powder waiting as we arrived at MT Hood Meadows. The Ride up was uneventfull as we passed the other cars pulled off to the side and chaining up. The Inn's van is four wheel drive and got us through. I thought the price for the BRT package to be a very fair value. For $60.00, I got a warm BED in the Hostel Room, a free RIDE up to MT Hood Meadows, and an all day lift TICKET. Upon returing from a day on the mountain, I enjoyed the outdoor hot tub. The customer service was above the average. I believe the new ownership is on track for success. I will visit again and recommend to others.
