We went to see the changing colors in Yosemite and found out the waterfalls were flowing as well. After a beautiful day in Yosemite, we decided to find a place to stay on the way home. What a perfect place! Groveland is a tiny town, but the locals are friendly and we had fun strolling through town. Dinner reservations at the Cellar Door are a must! We were very surprised to find such fantastic food in the mountains. Definitely better than our lunch at the Ahwahnee. I tried the beet salad on recommendation of the waitress. It was terrific, and I don't usually like beets! The chef even came out to check on our meal and the service was excellent! I can hardly wait for our next trip to Yosemite. We will stay here again!

I AM SORRY, I FOUND THE ROOM TO BE IN NEED OF THE WINDOW CURTINS TO BE WASHED, THEY WERE TO DUSTY AND DIRTY TO BE HEALTHY FOR ME. I WOULD LIKE TO FIND A ROOM THAT IS CLEAN AND FRESH. THANK YOU

We had seen the hotel several times and decided to try it. It is a charming old (and modern) hotel. We entered Yosemite north end to Yosemite Valley. We were told that the hotel has the best food in the area, but it was not open yet for the season.

We went from vacationing a few days in the fast paced city with traffic jams to match-- to a trip back in time. Our corner room on the second floor gave us a lovely window to the balcony which overlooks the winding two lane road leading to Yosemite. The room reminded our family of my elderly mother who still adorns her guest rooms with quilts and teddy bears. We had a teenage son in tow, so the inflatable bed was fascinating and comfortable enough for him for each of the two evenings we spent there. Housekeeping kept us supplied with glorious soaps (some handmade from locals) and bottled drinking water. We booked dinner each evening at their restaurant and are so glad that we did. And even though the waffle maker was not in operation for breakfast in the mornings we were there, it was not needed. The pastries were glorious, the kitchen made the best egg dish I've ever had, and the fruits were absolutely the best. Fresh squeezed OJ, too. If you are on your way to Yosemite, enjoy the pleasures of a bed and breakfast, a home atmosphere that is laid back, and want fed like there's no tomorrow....then make your reservations for Groveland, today. Oh...and if you like a little folklore about ghostly guests...Groveland Hotel can accomodate that as well. We were there in late July. I bet fall, winter and spring are delightful as well. Enjoy!

My husband and I wanted a nice place to stay while taking care of some personal business. The Groveland Hotel is very attractive and the largest place in town, so we decided to stay there. I loved the patio area. We were there in September and it was very green and cool with lots of great places to sit and relax. The room was good, but I really wanted to take the bed home with me, it was that great. Everyone was pleasant and friendly, especially Grover at the front desk. The food was amazing for a small town. I'm still remembering the taste of that steak. My husband and I are planning our trip back. We absolutely recommend this place.
