We also did not have reservations. The man at the desk check us in quickly and gave us a garage opener so that we could park our car in a free secured lot just around the corner. The room (Casa Arena) was very nicely decorated: DVD, flat screen TV, beautiful four-post bed and pillow top duvet - extremely comfortable! The pillows were a bit flimsy. Next time I'll bring my own. The room had a nice view of the ocean - but is partially blocked by the staircase. The bathroom is showing its age..but was still very clean and charming. The jacuzzi tub is built for two, but the jets were not very strong and the hot water comes out slow. The inn provided two comfy robes. The outside patio areas are extremely inviting and is a very romantic spot to watch the sun set. Overall, my husband and I were extremely happy with room accomodations.
Now, let me preface the rest of my review with the fact that I am a bit of a food snob. The inn has baskets of packaged foods in your room, for you to eat and snack on. (Famous Amos cookies, bear claws, Hostess muffins, Wheat Thins, BabyBell cheese, Dole fruit cups, Yoplait yogurt, Quaker granola bars). Now, my husband couldn't have cared less, but with all the attention to detail in the rooms, I guess I expected a little more effort with the food. I felt they could provide a much more personal and fresh breakfast with just a tiny bit more effort. For example, fresh fruit, maybe some muffins/pastries from a local bakery, etc...As for the munchie bar mentioned on their site...it is baskets of fruit and hot coffee, tea bags and cocoa packets available all day long. To end on a good note, they stock your room fridge with water, juice, wine and champagne that is included with the price of the room. Overall, I would definitely go back, as the room and ambience outweighed my disappointment with the food. View Reviewer Info
