My girlfriend and I usually frequent Manitou Springs several times a year for the cool shops, the penny arcade and the Hungarian goulash served at the European Cafe. This time, we wanted to stay a couple of nights to get a few more attractions in and to be able to see everything we wanted without running out of time.
I did a Google search and came up with a few different bed and breakfasts, but this particular site had some great photos of the rooms and was very reasonably priced.
We met our host Gwenn on arrival and she was not only very accommodating, but was also an excellent cook. As the other reviews have stated, there were muffins, cookies, quiches, fruit with yogurt, etc. Everything was very delicious.
I believe if you stayed in the B & B before last December, it's had a huge change in decor, according to the photos I've seen and it's a vast improvement.
The location couldn't be better. You can find parking around the back and then downtown Manitou is literally right outside the front door. The Cog Railway to Pike's Peak is down a few blocks past several antique shops, art and photo galleries, eateries, and other cool shops like the RetroMoto toy store and Dulcimer music shop. Gwenn had plenty of brochures right outside of our room and we came across an ad for a wolf sanctuary that was only about half an hour away from our location.
On a whim, we decided to visit and for a small donation of $10 per adult, we had an excellent time.
Being able to come back to a clean, well decorated room made our visit one of the best times we've had in Manitou Springs. We love this area, so we'll definitely will be back and will definitely be staying here again. View Reviewer Info
