We enjoyed our two night stay at the Avenue Hotel Bed and Breakfast. Owners Gwenn and Randy were very friendly and helpful. The Victorian style house and rooms were very clean and they provided a number of amenities to make our stay even more comfortable. Breakfast outside on the large front porch with the other guests was relaxing and the food was delicious. The Bed and Breakfast was close to the many restaurants and shops downtown and the cogwheel train to Pike's Peak was only a 5 minute drive away. We would definitely stay here again! The Avenue is situated conveniently in downtown Manitou Springs. The inn has a welcoming atmosphere and the hosts are quite charming. Our room was comfortable with a cleverly designed "in suite" bathroom. Snacks are available. The food was outstanding and the company grand. We will return!

My girlfriend and I usually frequent Manitou Springs several times a year for the cool shops, the penny arcade and the Hungarian goulash served at the European Cafe. This time, we wanted to stay a couple of nights to get a few more attractions in and to be able to see everything we wanted without running out of time. I did a Google search and came up with a few different bed and breakfasts, but this particular site had some great photos of the rooms and was very reasonably priced. We met our host Gwenn on arrival and she was not only very accommodating, but was also an excellent cook. As the other reviews have stated, there were muffins, cookies, quiches, fruit with yogurt, etc. Everything was very delicious. I believe if you stayed in the B & B before last December, it's had a huge change in decor, according to the photos I've seen and it's a vast improvement. The location couldn't be better. You can find parking around the back and then downtown Manitou is literally right outside the front door. The Cog Railway to Pike's Peak is down a few blocks past several antique shops, art and photo galleries, eateries, and other cool shops like the RetroMoto toy store and Dulcimer music shop. Gwenn had plenty of brochures right outside of our room and we came across an ad for a wolf sanctuary that was only about half an hour away from our location. On a whim, we decided to visit and for a small donation of $10 per adult, we had an excellent time. Being able to come back to a clean, well decorated room made our visit one of the best times we've had in Manitou Springs. We love this area, so we'll definitely will be back and will definitely be staying here again.

We were very impressed with the Avenue Hotel. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, we felt instantly at home. We agreed that it was like "visiting family with the luxury of being antisocial." We were the first to enjoy the "Romance Special," which was so much more than we expected. The massage therapist was wonderful and friendly, and the wine and appetizer plate was delicious. We will definitely stay again! Matt & Danie

We attended a meeting in town and the Avenue B&B was chosen as the lodging for the whole group. We couldn't have been happier. Gwen is a fabulous cook and a gracious hostess, remembering each morning her guests' preferences. Our room was really delightful, comfortable and cozy. Breakfast was fresh, all homemade and absolutely delicious!

I have been going to the Avenue Hotel since the mid 80's. I was saddened to hear that it had been sold but when I walked in the door I knew the changes that had been made were absolutely incredible. I could feel both the warmth of the home and innkeepers, Gwen and Randy, from the moment I walked in. The breakfasts are gourmet and delicious! I had never visited Manitou Springs, CO before this April 2009. I selected the Avenue Hotel based on its website's "transparency" and I was not disappointed; my stay was totally incredible. Gwen and Randy, the Innkeepers, were gracious, courteous, available and responsive. The Avenue Hotel is located on Manitou Avenue, providing an easy stroll through the heart of Manitou Springs, after a scrumptious breakfast. I will return to Manitou Springs, stay at the Avenue Hotel and live happily everafter.

My stay at the Avenue Hotel was wonderful. This was my first trip to Manitou, I'll now be going once a year. The Hotel is filled with a very inviting history, Gwen and Randy are very inviting and hospitable. I was leery of staying in a B&B, however, it seemed like a better option since I was traveling alone. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was beautiful and the Innkeepers were wonderful. I would recommend this B&B to anyone for any occasion, it was truly a great escape.

We went to Manitou Springs on a spur of a moment trip and found this bed and breakfast. It was nice and clean. It is of the main road so it its quiet. It is close enough to shops and resturants to walk.

We stayed in the Meadows Room, which was bright and spacious - lots of windows. This house has lots of character, the room was very comfortable, and the location is great for visiting shops and restaurants.
