The moment we entered the b&b, we were treated to a wonderful tour of this historic residence. Our room, the Campaign Room, was immaculate. Several chairs were available with ample light for reading or just stretching out and visiting. The bed was extremely comfortable affording us a restful night. Our private bath was well stocked with all the ammenities.
Breakfast was incredible. Plenty of hot coffee, juice, a hearty egg casserole, and their signature "baked grapefruit" with cinnamon. A good two hours was spend around breakfast conversing with the many guests and with Paul and Theresa, our gracious hosts.
Professional, courteous, a pleasurable experience in comfort and dining; all hallmark descriptions of our Valentine's Day stay at the Iron Horse Inn in Granbury, Texas. A must stay!!! View Reviewer Info

This is top notch bed and breakfast. Not only is the 100 year old plus home an architectural masterpiece, but the innkeepers, Judy and Bob, sure know how to make their guests feel as though they are part of their family. From the moment we arrived for afternoon snacks they made sure they got to know us and that we got to know our fellow guests.
They also took the time to provide us with the kind of useful and insightful information about local restarurants and entertainment that only their 12+ years as the innkeepers could provide. They even made thereservations for us.
We loved our comfortable room, the reading chairs, and all the amenties that were included. In fact, after such a peaceful night's rest we didn't want to leave our room and venture downstairs to breakfast.
But, we are sure glad we did. We have stayed at B&Bs throughout the northeast, midwest, and south and have never had a more guest friendly experience while enjoying such a scrumptious, full course breakfast. Judy and Bob's attention to detail and their attention to their guests during breakfast was truly a bed and breakfast highlight for us. They engaged all of their guests in conversation, not only with them, but more importantly with each other. We made many new friends over breakfast that morning and look forward to future visits.
What truly sets The Iron Horse Inn apart from all other B&Bs was the HOSPITALITY of the innkeepers. It was a special experience !!! View Reviewer Info

The Iron Horse Inn was a delight for newcomers to B&B's. Bob and Judy were gracious and accommodating, offering modifications on breakfast, making entertainment reservations for us, enjoying the stories of all t he guests, and recommending a superb steakhouse in the area.
We stayed in the Cogdell Suite - it has a huge custom bathtub for a relaxing soak - but there is no official shower, keep this in mind as you will have to take bath/showers. The suite was very large and nicely decorated.
Breakfasts were outstanding! We've never had baked grapefruit before - yum! The eggs benedict were especially delicious. Beverages and cookies were served in the afternoon, another yum. There were pitchers of ice water in our suite, fresh flowers, nice touches!
The property was very nicely landscaped with beautifully natural gardens. We didn't get much of a chance to just sit in the gardens, as we were enjoying Granbury so much we were exhausted by the time we returned to the Inn!
We checked out all the other rooms too - the Wine Cellar is really unique and we'd love to stay there next time! They also have separate cottages for extra privacy.
Bob and Judy were some of the nicest people I've ever met and they hosted a fantastic breakfast for 10 on our last morning at the Iron Horse. They did a great job at breaking the ice between a roomful of strangers and soon enough, there were about 4 different conversations in full swing, and Bob and Judy just sat back and enjoyed it all!
Make sure to go to Line Camp Steakhouse, recommended by Bob and Judy. We also enjoyed the local D'Vine Winery, the Opera House performance of The Day The Music Died, and nearby Fossil Rim Nature Center.
We have every intention of going back to the Iron Horse Inn and highly recommend it to other visitors! View Reviewer Info
