My husband and I stayed a weekend in May for our ten year anniversary, Theresa and Paul really made us feel welcome and were the perfect hosts! We stayed in the Hills of Tara room and felt very comfortable. I loved all the artifacts and pictures that were brought back from Theresa's home country, Ireland. The garden is a special place to sit and snuggle as well as the big porch. We had the best time and felt very relaxed. can't wait to go back!

My girlfriend and I desperately needed a rejuvenating vacation away from our families, which include teenagers. We really were in need of a nice break that didn’t cost a fortune and didn’t take too much time. We found the perfect retreat at The Iron Horse Inn Bed and Breakfast in Granbury, Texas. The old spacious house had so many unique rooms with such character. We stayed in the Wine Cellar, which was actually part of the cellar; it was very cool! All the rooms are unique and have a story. We had tea on the large front porch, wine and cookies in their beautiful gardens, read and watched TV in the two large living rooms, all complete with antique furniture, and enjoyed the company of the wonderful owners. Paul and Theresa Martin did everything to make each and every guest feel so welcome and so special. They went above and beyond to make our visit wonderful. Theresa’s breakfasts were exceptional; something different every day! And it was a real treat to hear the history of the Cogdell house as were breakfasting on the antique china. The town of Granbury is complete with fun shopping (reasonable prices!) and great evening entertainment. I would highly recommend staying at The Iron Horse Inn for a real treat.

Theresa couldn't have been a better host to our girls weekend. There were 15 of us and we were comfortable. There are several places to gather, but we especially enjoyed the large front porch. The house is steps away from a trail through a park that takes you to the square. It was the perfect spot for our reunion and we're planning to go back next year.

My husband surprised me with a weekend get-away for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We did not have many days to spend away but he wanted me to be rested and refreshed, and that is exactly what we got. The house is beautiful and so cozy and comfortable. The grounds were also beautiful, it rained that weekend, so we enjoyed sitting and reading just looking out the windows. Breakfast was so interesting, with a 3 course meal, history lessons and meeting the other guests. Paul and Theresa were wonderful hosts and we look forward to staying at the Iron Horse Inn again in the future.

Six members from our collaborative painting group, Canvas by Canvas.com, spent a great Thursday through Saturday painting retreat at the Iron Horse Inn. The studio was well equipped and Theresa would appear in the afternoon with wonderful treats. Convenient and comfortable and we could paint anytime with the studio key.

My girlfriend and I spent a night at the Inn in February and we had a really great time. The owners are both very friendly, very hospitable, great cooks and wonderful people to talk too. They created a very welcoming environment that allowed everyone currently at the Inn to talk, mingle and get to know one another. We only spent one night here but we wished we were able to stay longer just to see more of the town and spend more time with the wonderful people at the Inn.

We had a lovely weekend. The owners were attentive and accomodating. The inn is charming. We enjoyed every part of it, not only the room but the living area with a fire place, the big front porch with comfortable rockers and the historical stories that brought the place to life. The owners even arranaged a massage in the room. It was perfect.

The moment we entered the b&b, we were treated to a wonderful tour of this historic residence. Our room, the Campaign Room, was immaculate. Several chairs were available with ample light for reading or just stretching out and visiting. The bed was extremely comfortable affording us a restful night. Our private bath was well stocked with all the ammenities. Breakfast was incredible. Plenty of hot coffee, juice, a hearty egg casserole, and their signature "baked grapefruit" with cinnamon. A good two hours was spend around breakfast conversing with the many guests and with Paul and Theresa, our gracious hosts. Professional, courteous, a pleasurable experience in comfort and dining; all hallmark descriptions of our Valentine's Day stay at the Iron Horse Inn in Granbury, Texas. A must stay!!!

The Iron Horse Inn is a fabulous place for a weekend getaway. My husband and I went with our 3 teenage-ish children and all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Inn is beautiful with charming architectural details and antiques. All the rooms have their own character (and bath!) and are just lovely. My husband and I stayed in the Cogdell suite which had the most wonderful, bright solarium/sitting room attached to it. The only difficulty I had was whether to stay in my room or any of the beautiful common areas and relax with my book, or walk just a couple of blocks to the Granbury's delightful town square, or go for a walk on the very nearby hike and bike trail. The innkeepers were a very interesting couple who've travelled all over and are also quite knowledgeable about the home they just bought. They served two fabulous breakfasts while we were there and dined with us, keeping up a lively conversation. I'd never been to Granbury before and was really surprised by how easy it was to get to from Dallas but how much you still felt like you were getting away. I highly recommend this for a weekend getaway from the big city.

My husband and I stayed for two nights at the Inn. the Inn itself is beautiful and the location is conventient to the great shopping on the square. Also convenient to the hike and bike trail! We stayed in the Nantucket Cottage and it is perfect for a romantic weekend or just to get away. It is so quaint and brings back memories of our stays in Nantucket. It has a great sitting area with a woodburning fireplace and everything about it is so charming. Words don't do it justice, check it out on the website. We really would have loved just staying in by the fireplace and reading a book and drinking some wine all weekend, but we did venture out to see the local sights. The breakfasts in the main Inn were delicious and something to look forward to. The proprietors were very hospitable and we enjoyed visiting with them.

Our stay in the Nantucket Cottage took us back to the romance of our youth. The privacy of the cottage, the fireplace in the sitting room, the clawfoot tub & the luxurious bath robes all set the frame for a relaxing, refreshing, romantic time together. A delightful added bonus was a Christmas Tree in the sitting room! Thank you, Theresa & Paul for the delicious food and your gracious hospitality -- from the tour of the facility to the swapping of grandchildren stories. Your unique blend of talents and abilities will draw people to your Inn for years to come. Best wishes & God bless you!

This is top notch bed and breakfast. Not only is the 100 year old plus home an architectural masterpiece, but the innkeepers, Judy and Bob, sure know how to make their guests feel as though they are part of their family. From the moment we arrived for afternoon snacks they made sure they got to know us and that we got to know our fellow guests. They also took the time to provide us with the kind of useful and insightful information about local restarurants and entertainment that only their 12+ years as the innkeepers could provide. They even made thereservations for us. We loved our comfortable room, the reading chairs, and all the amenties that were included. In fact, after such a peaceful night's rest we didn't want to leave our room and venture downstairs to breakfast. But, we are sure glad we did. We have stayed at B&Bs throughout the northeast, midwest, and south and have never had a more guest friendly experience while enjoying such a scrumptious, full course breakfast. Judy and Bob's attention to detail and their attention to their guests during breakfast was truly a bed and breakfast highlight for us. They engaged all of their guests in conversation, not only with them, but more importantly with each other. We made many new friends over breakfast that morning and look forward to future visits. What truly sets The Iron Horse Inn apart from all other B&Bs was the HOSPITALITY of the innkeepers. It was a special experience !!!

The Iron Horse Inn was a delight for newcomers to B&B's. Bob and Judy were gracious and accommodating, offering modifications on breakfast, making entertainment reservations for us, enjoying the stories of all t he guests, and recommending a superb steakhouse in the area. We stayed in the Cogdell Suite - it has a huge custom bathtub for a relaxing soak - but there is no official shower, keep this in mind as you will have to take bath/showers. The suite was very large and nicely decorated. Breakfasts were outstanding! We've never had baked grapefruit before - yum! The eggs benedict were especially delicious. Beverages and cookies were served in the afternoon, another yum. There were pitchers of ice water in our suite, fresh flowers, nice touches! The property was very nicely landscaped with beautifully natural gardens. We didn't get much of a chance to just sit in the gardens, as we were enjoying Granbury so much we were exhausted by the time we returned to the Inn! We checked out all the other rooms too - the Wine Cellar is really unique and we'd love to stay there next time! They also have separate cottages for extra privacy. Bob and Judy were some of the nicest people I've ever met and they hosted a fantastic breakfast for 10 on our last morning at the Iron Horse. They did a great job at breaking the ice between a roomful of strangers and soon enough, there were about 4 different conversations in full swing, and Bob and Judy just sat back and enjoyed it all! Make sure to go to Line Camp Steakhouse, recommended by Bob and Judy. We also enjoyed the local D'Vine Winery, the Opera House performance of The Day The Music Died, and nearby Fossil Rim Nature Center. We have every intention of going back to the Iron Horse Inn and highly recommend it to other visitors!

We were looking for an intimate setting outside of Dallas for a small work retreat and planning time. Our retreat was at the Iron Horse Inn. All 8 couples were impressed by the charm of the house, hospitality of the owners, amazing breakfast and the overall quality of our stay. As the organizer, my hardest job was determining which of the rooms I wanted to stay in. Every single room is unique and well decorated. I loved the attention that the owners paid to all the little details in the decor.

I had a wonderful experience staying in the Nantucket Cottage at The Iron Horse Inn in Granbury. The Inn Keepers were lovely and ever so kind hearted. I adored sitting on the swing by the fish pond, lounging in the cottage and soaking in the old antique tub. The Nantucket Cottage was truly perfect and a wonderful experience for a couple looking for a wonderful escape to "get away". We will definitely return.
