Review The Lamplighter B&B, Ludington, MI

Photo Album

The careful craftsmanship of days gone by that is evident throughout our home is highlighted here in the oak staircase that is the central focal point of the foyer that leads out to the gazebo or into the dining room or guest parlor. The Lamplighter's gazebo and patio make a great spot for enjoying your early morning coffee or a mid afternoon snack. It also makes an elegant place to eat your carry out fast food on those evenings when you don't want to go out to eat.
Our Wheaten Terrier, Magie waits patiently for the doorbell to ring. She doesn't shed and doesn't go in any guest rooms, but does feel it is her job to greet you (whitout barking) when you arrive.Innkeepers Bill and Jane pause for a quick photo taken by guests just before breakfast is served.
Breakfast is a special event at the Lamplighter. Served on antique china with sparkling silver and crystal, you will be treated to fresh fruit, and freshly baked muffins or pastries with main dishes like peach caramelized french toast, potatoe crust quiche, strawberry crepes and sausage souffles. Whether you eat at 6:15 or 10:00, you will recieve the same sensational food, presentaion and service.Beautiful and romantic, the Renoir Room gets its name from the great Impressionist painter, Pierre Auguste Renoir, who believed that art shoud first and foremost be beautiful. We think your time with us should be the same--elegant and lovely, with something to make you smile at every turn. One of the great joys of any B&B is that every room is unique--so visit our web site to see them all and choose the one that's right for you.
All rooms have private baths that are kept immaculately clean and disinfected between guests. Two rooms, the Renoir and the Monet (pictured here) have whirlpool tubs. All bathrooms are provided with shampoo, soap, drinking glasses and a hairdryer.Come sail with us. Stay two or more nights and receive a complimentary sail on the Lamplighter's Kaleidescope (wind and weather permitting). Captain Bill Carpenter will tailor your sailing experience to meet the needs of novice or experienced sailors.
The May Cassatt Room is a cozy and economical choice for those who want a lovely place to lay their heads at night but plan on spending most of their time out and about.
