I OLD BROE & NANCY many times after visiting a guitar shop in Vicksberg would travel thru the river area of MENDON MICHIGAN on M-60 from HILLSDALE MICHIGAN always talking about stopping at The WAKEMAN Mendon Country INN. FINALLY WE WERE AMAZED at the RARE FIND, visiting with thee Clarkes for a deep chat while eating food from the godz. Much appreciated was the area infomation about the Indian Tribes of the past and town history WOW... WE ARE TELLING EVERYONE ABOUT THIS hidden treasure, the winding stairway from the empire era was just one of the many features. I enjoyed my stay at the Mendon Country Inn very much. I was in the area for business and the hotels in this part of the world are mostly truck stop type motels. A co-worker was staying at the Inn and recommended to me. I stayed in wonderful private cottage - very comfy. Geff, the inn keeper along with his wife Cheryl, is also a very accomplished chef. Every night dinner was a delicious dining experience and some nights Geff would play the piano while the waitress Molly would sing opera or tunes. It was such a nice break at the end of a work day. Would stay again and recommend to everyone. This is also Amish country and the area is very neat. Good experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I would not hesitate to come back. What makes this place special are Geff and Cheryl. I cannot single out anything that was better than another. Food, conversation, surroundings. All fantastic.

We visited Mendon Inn for a wedding & were rejuvenated by the relaxing atmosphere, including wonderful food, comfortable rooms, more than gracious innkeepers. Exploring the area was also good fun.

We have been visiting the Mendon in for the past 6 New Year's, and probably another 8 times on our own, or with friends. The Clarke's are as welcoming as can be; consistently make every effort to both entertain, and fill you with fine food. The guests are always a cross section of eklectic, warm, intelectuals, and pleasant. The personal touches at the Inn distinguish it from other B&B's; the food has a flair that only Geff can create. We have developed a connection with the community of Mendon, and certainly, with our friends and Innkeepers. They need to tune the piano and fix middle "D" which I understand Geff is in the process of arranging.

They made our Anniversary one to remember. It was lovely and we will definately be back. If you know nothing about bnb or think you do, go to the Mendon and you will have a new level of appreciation. Especially with the food.

I'm returning for my third visit this weekend. This is my favorite getaway. This is NOT the "Holiday Inn", so don't expect everything to be shiny, new and perfect. If you are willing to relax and have a sense of humor, you will love the charm and eccentricities of this 160+ year old inn. The food is fabulous, the rooms will make you smile, and you will have a great time if you don't take yourself too seriously. If you are looking for a charming, personable inn with interesting people, this could be it.

My boyfriend surprised me with a weekend at this in for my 30th birthday. The directions on their web site are totally wrong - they take you way out of your way. The visit was below average, as we were completely unable to use the "large double Jacuzzi tub" because there was a broken pipe in the basement. The innkeepers were very insensitive about the matter and still charged us full price for the room. This was not the act of innkeepers that want return guests. Be wary of the service you receive at this inn.
