Harrington House offers everything we seek in a Bed & Breakfast: beautiful decor, cleanliness, and excellent service. The beachfront location is ideal in our opinion. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Our breakfast was delicious and romantic, sitting outside overlooking the ocean. The inside sitting area was beautiful too with gorgeous stonework, but we can rarely resist eating outdoors, especially with such a view. I loved the entrance that greeted us with a flowing fountain ensconced amidst a profusion of flowers and lead us through a rounded doorway, as if we were entering a secret garden surrounding a small castle. The late afternoon fresh baked chocolate chip cookies were yummy too! Many appreciated amenities include: a minifridge in our room, a terrace, menus for probably all Anna Maria's restaurants, cold water and snacks available for purchase, an abundant library of movies and books and area activities brochures. We would like to take the time to thank Patty, Mark and the staff at the Harrington House for making our visit to Anna Marie Island, Florida, a wonderful experience. The splendid views of the beach and Gulf were a welcome change for us, coming from the great white north of New York.
The Bungalows 1 and 2 were the living quarters that we stayed in. Both were very well decorated and updated. They made you want to live there. They were both meticulously prepared for our stay. The staff came in daily to take care of the general clean up for us from the day and night before. Breakfast was always a welcome time of day, with great coffee and good food. Guests could eat in the main dinning room which looked out on the beach or sit on the patio with the same great views.
Although Kayaks were available, never having used one we passed on taking one out on the gulf waters. But the bikes were a different story. We rode them nearly everyday we were there. Using the bikes gave us the “slow down pace” we were looking for, being on vacation. We were able to explore the northern and eastern shores of the Anna Marie Island, along with the shops and restaurants with only a little effort of pedaling around. Since the main road was for cars, we took the side streets, which allowed us to see how residents lived on the many canals and beautiful homes.
The Harrington House was always open for a fresh cup of coffee, cookies, water and fruit. We spent some of our time on the beach and some of time on the patio, enjoying the pool and comfort of our house, oops the Harrington House. A Freudian slip, since all the comfort and freedom there made it feel like our home. We would recommend the Harrington House to anyone who is looking for a laid back relaxing vacation..

My wife and I have just stayed a second time at Harrington House Bed and Breakfast. We are experienced travelers, especially in the Mediterranean and the Nordic countries, with their different styles of coasts and beaches, and have long sought to find a place nearer to Massachusetts ‘to call our own.’ We have miraculously found it in Harrington House, an oasis of calm, quiet, and natural beauty. My wife grew up in a beach hotel in Denmark, and Harrington House, in a garden by the sea, fits her like hand in a glove—which we don’t have to wear. We looked long and hard for a place that gave a sense of home with a solicitous, friendly, and unobtrusive regard for the guests. We have already reserved ‘our’ room for next year—and will be doing so for years to come.

My husband and I recently spent two nights at the lovely Harrington House Bed and Breakfast on Holmes Beach, Fl. We have stayed at many B&Bs, and small inns in the USA, Europe, and Great Britain, and our experience at the Harrington House was one of our most memorable! Our attractive room ( Birdsong) in the main house had a great view of the beach, and a nice porch. It was small, but very comfortable, pretty, and clean. The breakfasts were delicious! We were offered a different menu each day, including homebaked breads or muffins, fruit, granola and cereals, breakfast meats, fruit juice, coffee or tea. But the thing that really impressed us was that we were also offered, as an alternative, any type of eggs, cooked to order. This was important to my husband, who has several food intollerances, which make breakfast a challenge for him. For once, he was able to enjoy a hearty breakfast of his choice! Our favorite part of our stay, however, was the wonderful service given to us by the friendliest staff we've ever encountered! From the warm welcome and tour of the accommodations we received on our arrival, to the cheerful servers greeting us at breakfast each day, to the friendly farewell, with directions provided to the airport, and even the printing of our boarding passes for us, the staff far exceeded our expectations. My husband and I spent just two nights and three days at Harrington House, but I came home more rested and refreshed than after most two-week vacations. For a "real" vacation, I must spend time preparing the week before, plus a week after catching up on mail, laundry, and work. Harrington House is only an hour away from our home. We packed shorts and sandals, jumped in the car, and away we went. The property is lovely, flowers everywhere, and of course, that magnificent beach. I noticed, after returning from out of town, that your anticipation of enjoying yourself at Harrington House for your anniversary was not as special as you were hoping.
Please know how awful I feel about this. This should have been such a special weekend for the two of you.
Some say that "disappointment" lingers longer and is remembered 10 times more than satisfaction. So I thoroughly understand why it was on your mind the other day and throughout your stay at Harrington House to respond to our "Request to post comments on this site". We thank you so very much for taking the time to express yourself and to let us know we need to open our eyes to possible improvements of the 1925 home. We try to get it right; but some things are on-going and others just get over-looked until they are pointed out to us. I guess that's the human nature in us all. Again, you were right and we have started to look around to find what is "Tired" and needs our special TLC; and we hope that they can be tackled quickly.
We hope that these inadequacies with the facility did not over-shadow the pleasure of being right on the beach. We try to meet the anticipations of our guests and we're disappointed with ourselves when glitches happen. Please try us again and if you would be so kind and email us your name and phone number that would be greatly appreciated. I would like to contact you directly.
