This was our first visit to Savannah, and we picked the Olde Harbour Inn based on the two rave reviews here at the time. It's hard to imagine a better spot for a first-time visitor, with river views, instant access to River St. with all its "touristy" businesses, and right on the edge of the Savannah historic district. Everything is within walking distance for the reasonably fit. (We're 62, and walked all the way to Forsyth Park). Don't be put off by my less than 5 star ratings of cleanliness and dining - I've stayed in enough B&B's in this price range that "Met my expectations" is a good thing. The room (suite, really) was great, the staff warm, friendly, and helpful. The bathroom was a little small, and the plumbing a little cranky, but that goes with the territory for older B&B's. One feature we really like was that there is a journal in the room where previous occupants have written about their stays. Don't miss the wine and cheese and goodies in the afternoon - great conversations with other guests. Southerners really are more friendly than us Yankees. PS: Your GPS will have a tough time finding this place - get your driving directions from the inn. View Reviewer Info
