barbara and Franklin were excellent hosts. They made breakfast to suit my low sodium, low fat diet and it was delicious! Lovely room and furnished with everything you need. Very comfortable bed.

It was my great pleasure to stay at the Barklin House. Mr. and Mrs. Miller are excellent hosts and run the nicest B&B I have stayed in. The rooms are spotless, the house is beautiful, the food is great and the Millers are fun to chat with. I will definitely consider this the only place I will stay when in Newberry.

Our son was participating in an event at Newberry College, and we chose the Barklin House after talking with Ms. Barbara on the phone. She and Mr. Franklin are delightful, lively and have many family stories to share. We toured Newberry and saw David Sanborn at the Opera House. Our weekend with the Millers was unforgettable. They provide everything imaginable for making a family feel at home, or as if you are visiting loving relatives. THANK YOU.

My husband anad I visited Barklin House for the 1st time and it was perfect! Barb and Franklin are wonderful hosts. They are very knowledgable and helpful about local restaurants and other points of interest. The house is beautiful and well maintained. Very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. I returned to Newberry for a funeral for a close family member. I lived here from 1993-2001, and was familiar with Barklin House. Barb & Franklin Miller provided me with a warm-hearted, peaceful respite in the midst of a painful, hectic week for my family.

After working for 11 hours my husband and I were trying to make the long trek from Wilmington,NC to Asheville,NC all in one trip We gave in around 9:00 PM which was near Newberry, SC. We got on line; found Barklin House B&B and gave them a call. The Rose Suite was available to our great fortune. It is a spacious, relaxing combination of 3 rooms meticulously kept. The antique claw footed tub was an added bonus. Barbara and Franklin were accomodating late night hosts. We look forward to staying with them again.

I stayed at the Barklin House with my fiance for my birthday in October and again with my daughter this past February. Both times our stay was wonderful. Franklin and Barbara are great hosts. There are many interesting places to visit around Newberry and they were very helpful in finding things for us to do. Our rooms were beautiful and the food was incredible, you won't leave the table hungry and if you have any special requests don't hesitate to ask. When I feel the need to "get away from it all" for a day or so, the Barklin House is the first place I think of.
