This was our second stay at the Morehead Inn. Both stays were extremely pleasant. The friendly staff really cares about each guest, making sure our every need is taken care of. Breakfast is a treat, with discrete but always available service. The location is in a quiet classy area of Charlotte, with fine dining nearby. Our favorite place to stay in Charlotte.

Visited our son in Charlotte and was told this was a great place to stay. Our room was nice with swing on porch with overlooking beautiful landscape. We were greeted with warm hospitality! Breakfast was excellent. Location is convenient to town and residential area made a scenic walk pleasant. Highly recommended.

My now husband and I stayed for 2 nights and also had our wedding and reception at the Morehead Inn. Julie was extremely helpful, attentive and proactive throughout the entire process!!! The room was cozy and intimate. I am allergic to one of the plants that was in the room and she removed it before our stay. Our wedding was perfect due to the fact that they were so attentive to event the smallest details. The included breakfast was delicious as was our catered lunch for the wedding. I look forward to spending our anniversary there for many years to come!

I stayed at the Morehead because it was within walking distance of a business meeting. The rooms were beautiful. The service was attentive. The landscaping and front portico were so relaxing and inviting. I was only upset that I could not stay longer. One night was definitely not enough.

We came to Charlotte for our annual company retreat. The rooms were beautiful and had that southern feel. It was a nice change of pace from the stuffy hotels - it seemed more like home. Everyone was pleased with the accomodations.

The Morehead Inn offered us a beautifully appointed room with a canopy bed and separate seating area at a fabulous discounted price of $99 for NYE night. Every detail was attended to including a very respectable wine list. We were only sad that the late night partying and lack of reminder about breakfast hours ending at 10 am prevented us from partaking in what I'm sure would've been a delicious repast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The holiday decorations were beautiful and at time even whimsical! I particularly enjoyed the beautiful tropical finch aviary!! Many thanks!! Jane & Dave of Cary, NC

Me, my wife, and or 2.5 year old daughter were staying at the Morehead Inn as part of a wedding party. First it was wonderful staying in such a beautiful and homey place so close to downtown Charlotte. Secondly the food was great. Third and most important of all on our last night there (the night of the reception party I might add) my wife (who was 8 months pregnant) and afore said 2.5 year old daughter both became violently ill. The doctors at the hospital said it was a gi bug of some sort. Anyway, the staff there was were so dutiful and respectful when it came to dealing with the mess. I'm not over exagerating when I say it was disgusting a disgusting job to clean up. They visited my room twice before we ever got to the hospital. So, I would highly recommend staying a the Morehead Inn, but hopefully their grace and hospitality will only be needed for making your stay more comfortable and not cleaning up messes. Oh yeah and the Sweet Olive shrub by the carriage house was intoxicating.

Morehead Inn is the epitome of southern elegance. The staff is warm and welcoming. Each room is beautifully decorated, but the courtyard with the fountain is what symbolized the graciousness of southern living. All you need is a mint julep.

The Morehead Inn is without a doubt quite beautiful. I had stayed there twenty years ago, and in those passing years they have managed to maintain its historic charm. The rooms are a nice size, but the two problems I had were dealing with no control over the central air and overall cleanliness. In the main house the rooms are on the main house's central air system. Every night that we stayed even layered under blankets we felt like we were sleeping in an ice locker, were froze. Also, there was a lot of dust on furniture, bedding, lampshades, counters, which made me feel like no one had been in the rooms in years. I love the grounds, interior of the common areas and eating in the dining room, so in the future that maybe all that I do the next time I'm in Charlotte.

My co-worker and I stayed at the Morehead for a convention which was held in Charlotte. All the hotels were already booked when we started looking for a room. The Morehead Inn was such a great find. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The inn is within walking distance of downtown. The staff is so friendly and accomodating. Ask for the extra packages that are available. When we got there we had fuzzy slippers, champagne, a gift certificate for a facial and milk and cookies waiting for us.

We participated in a wedding held at the Morehead recently, and were lucky enough to stay the night afterward. What a fantastic place! The staff was so friendly and accomodating to any request we had, the room was beautiful, spotless, and more space than we needed (so nice when you're living out of suitcases!), and the breakfast was wonderful. We would highly recommend a stay at this superb inn that is so centrally located in historic Dilworth, Charlotte!

My husband and I go to Charlotte fairly often and have decided the only place we will stay is either the Morehead Inn or her sister property, The VanLandingham Estate. Both Inns are delightful. The service, hospitality, pampering, fabulous breakfast, absolutely decadent comfortable bed assure us a good nights rest (something often rare while away from home). We highly recommend it to our friends.

Stayed here for a few days with the family (including a 1-year old) before heading to a hotel and a conference. We were pampered! From the first moment my thoughts were, "wow" and "I'm going to let a crawling infant loose among crystal?" The staff said "No problem", pulled out the real high chair (not a ubiquitous wooden one) and never batted an eye. Our suite had 2 rooms plus bath, one room perfect to put the crib and then close the door so parents didn't have to call it a night at 7 when the baby did. Off of our room was a communal lounge with comfy chairs and tea service at all hours - so we could choose to sit there or in our room. The food was spectacular (we only partook of breakfasts there). The staff was pleasant and eager to please from the housekeepers to the desk staff (who had replacement shoe laces when my husband broke one of his and then had to go to a conference) to the waitstaff and even the chef who served us breakfast one day. Pampering in a luxurious setting but never with an uncomfortable feeling that we were going to break something or didn't belong there.

Loved being there. Especially the little balcony off our bedroom--so peaceful and private. The staff were terrific! We were treated so well!
