The guesthouse is located in a neighborhood near the Woodly park Zoo. It is an easy walk from the metro and the entire metro system including National airport. They have a great self serve bkfst -bacon-egg-yogurt-make your own waffles-juice coffee bagel-danish! We stayed on the lower level with a shred bathroom-room quite small but bathroom large. Not fancy at all but bed comfy and so was the pillow. No TV but free WIFI if you have your own computer. They have maps of the metro and places to visit. They are very helpful and your so called roomates are interesting people-many just in town visiting their kids at school

"A cozy B&B in a nice area of DC" 10/7/2009

The staff was really nice and helpful, and found us an arrangement in order to get the keys back after the check-in limit. The bathroom was always available, which was really appreciable. Finally the breakfast was really good, in a nice place with newspapers and TV. You could say the furniture and decoration is a bit old-fashioned, but I thought it was part of the charm of the place. I would definitely recommend this B&B for young couples who are looking for a homely place to stay in DC!

After a moment of panic upon arrival, hearing that the guesthouse did not have my reservation, I was relieved that they were able to scramble and accommodate me. Lesson learned: call ahead to confirm WITH THE B&B ITSELF that they have a space waiting for you. Room was clean and cozy, with easy wireless access and (perhaps best of all) a short walk to the zoo. Always a plus to have a morning walk include views of clouded leopards and the like (summer/fall, zoo paths are open early!). Although I enjoyed my room, I would recommend requesting something on an upper floor as the downstairs bathroom did not have a light in the shower. There was a nice (if small) common room, though, with iron and ironing board (good for a professional stay).

This one projects a sense of professional innkeeping---two common areas plus a dining area, an expanded continental breakfast if you don't have to leave early, and a decanter of sherry to dissolve the cares of the day. Early to mid 1900s cover the walls and only five blocks to the Wardman Park Metro stop, so I've used this one several times and will continue to when I'm banished to DC for a few days at a clip.

This was our first time at Kalorama Guest house. It exceeded our expectations. The staff couldn't be more accommodating. The breakfast, although continental, had a good selection, and was served in a cheery kitchen/dining room. Fresh fruit, coffee and hot drinks were available at all times. Our bedroom was very comfortable, and the full bath very well appointed. Laundry facilities on the premises came in handy. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting people from all over the world. The metro was close by - and one could get off eihter of two stops to enjoy restaurants and shops or the National Zoo on the way. We would definitely stay there again.

We have been to the DC area 5 times in the past 3 years. We recently visited to see the beautiful cherry blossoms. We stayed 2 nights. April 2nd-4th. This was our third visit to the Kalorama House in Woodley Park. It's as close as you'll get to actually being at home. Great comfortable place to stay. Highly convenient as Metro station is only 2 blocks away and reasonably priced. Excellent breakfast and for a good meal at dinner time, try the Chipotle down on the corner from the Metro station. You can't go wrong staying there at this guest house. Rebecca, one of the Innkeepers is always very nice and helpful. Washington DC is indeed our favorite place to visit with all of the great jewels and treasures found there and the Kalorama House in Woodley Park is one of them...
