The Inn At Cooperstown

The Inn, spotlessly clean and hospitably staffed, provides a peaceful respite in the heart of the beautiful village of Cooperstown. The 18 guest rooms, each with private bath and air conditioning, are tastefully decorated and beautifully... more

My husband and I stayed 2 night, I will never stay there again this inn is in The Registry Book, it is to be up scale place. I couldn't get water or ice, the entire TV, room book room was locked at 10:00pm. Breakfast what a joke the second day we went to the bakery on the corner if was fresher then there. I thought the coffee was left over from the day before. no kidding people. The grounds were terrible, the parking lot was terrible. I would have better to sleep outside in a tent. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Innkeeper Response
We are sorry to read that this guest did not enjoy their stay at the inn. We wish they would have come to us with their issues as we are typically able to resolve any problems on the spot. This in turn allows the guest to enjoy the rest of their stay in Cooperstown. We are perplexed by the comments regarding ice and water as our front desk area is staffed until 11 pm every night and sometimes later during the summer months which are high season in Cooperstown. The sitting rooms, where the television, games, books, etc. are located, are never locked. These rooms do not have doors. The Inn at Cooperstown serves an expanded continental breakfast that includes a hot egg entrée, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, assorted cereals and granola, homemade muffins, toast (fresh bread from a local bakery), assorted juices, tea and fresh brewed coffee. The coffee is purchased from a local roaster who has the most highly regarded coffee shop in the area. The inn brews the coffee fresh every morning. Our muffins are also baked fresh every morning just before breakfast starts. We are disappointed that this guest did not enjoy the breakfast that we typically receive many favorable comments on. In regards to the grounds for the inn and the parking lot, again we are perplexed by these comments as we have never in our 6 years of ownership heard anything but positive comments on the park-like front lawn of the inn and spacious off-street parking. Our lawn is maintained weekly by a professional lawn care service and the flowers and plants are the product of the best local green house and professionally planted in the window boxes and hanging baskets that adorn our beautiful front porch.

We enjoyed our stay at the Cooperstown Inn-our kind of experience in a quaint little village surrounded by baseball memorabilia. Everything is in walkling distance from the Inn and very easy to find. The dinner recommendation down the street was particulary fabulous! We thoroughly enjoyed our 36th Anniversary as a result!

We made reservations at the Inn and were told that the room would be small and had twin beds. We were not told how far away the beds were. This did not make for a romantic weekend. And the room was also for handicap visitors. We enjoyed breakfast and the visitors we ate with were wonderful. The morning staff was excellent. They were always ready to assist us and keep the Inn running very smoothly. The entire Inn is beautiful--our room could have been better but we had to take what was left. The Inn is very close to the Otesaga Inn--where we had dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary at the Hawkeye Grill overlooking the lake. It was excellent. The setting was incredible. The menu was excellent--worth the expense. We enjoyed our stay in Cooperstown. We also had a lovely evening at the Glimmerglass Opera

We are frequent visitors to Cooperstown and have tried a variety of the other inns, b&bs and even the large resort hotel. The Inn at Cooperstown is now our only choice for lodging. This property "sparkles" not only physically but also from a hospitality services stand point. The owners are sharp and have a day-to-day presence here and it shows. The staff is well-trained, very friendly and very knowledgable. The property, guest rooms, and amenitites are continuously well-maintained and updated. The guest rooms and bathrooms are spotless. Breakfast is simply delicious and you have your choice between a hot entree and healthy options like yogurt and fruit... or you can have all! The location can't be beat as it is just steps from Main Street and a very short walk to the Hall of Fame. They have plenty of off-street parking with a newly expanded parking lot. As far as their room rates go they are extremely competitive with the other properties in town who are at the same level (which is not many). You get what you pay for and you simply can't go wrong with The Inn at Cooperstown.

My husband and I are frequent guests at the Inn at Cooperstown and have always been more than pleased with everything it offers. This visit, however, far exceeded any other visit we have taken! The innkeepers recently completed a 2-story luxury suite that is nothing short of magnificent. If you didn't know where to look, you would not notice something "new" as the architects figured out a way to make the exterior of the addition blend perfectly with the original building. As always, the friendly front desk staff warmly welcomed us. She was so excited about the new suite and couldn't wait to give us a personal tour! The suite features a 2-story open foyer; the living area is a soft gold color that perfectly accents the dark wood trim. Like the rest of the Inn, every appointment was tastefully chosen and very comfortable. The sofa in the living area was softer than my feather bed at home! The main living area also features a gorgeous fireplace, flat screen TV, and a wet bar. The hardwood floors and ceramic tile in the foyer sparkled. The 1st floor bedroom features a 4-poster bed and ANOTHER fireplace. It is tastefully painted in a soft shade of red that compliments the golden color in the living area. The bathroom is decorated with the same white/black tile scheme featured in the main Inn. It has a HUGE shower with a "rainfall" head and very heavy sparkling glass door. There is also a jet tub for two unlike any I have seen - gorgeous. The heated tile floors are a special treat. We were then escorted up stairs to the 2nd floor. At the top of the stairs is a sitting area, appointed with a leather sofa and comfy chair. I was told the couch pulls out to a bed. The 2nd story bedroom is as gorgeous as the 1st story and the 2nd story bathroom is almost the same as the first, without the tub. I must say this suite surpassed many that we have seen in highly rated inns throughout the Northeast. When you visit Cooperstown, you MUST stay at the Inn at Cooperstown.

A favorite respite of all our guests is rocking on the front veranda where freshly brewed iced tea is served each summer day while shaded by 100 year old maple tress. From here you can look out upon a typical American streetscape.Described by Travel and Leisure as "An ideal haven for urbanites", The Inn at Cooperstown offers at atmosphere that is informal yet comfortable. Friendly yet private. And most important, impecacably clean.
The holidays at The Inn at Cooperstown are magical and wonderful. Come visit and enjoy the beautiful Christmas decorations that adorn the inn, many of them were hand-selected by the innkeepers in Germany.Relax in a beautiful guest room at The Inn at Cooperstown.
