If you want an unassuming place to go to relax, this is it. Although close to town, the lodge is still isolated enough to have country charm and peace and quiet. I wish I'd stayed there longer.

Decided at the last minute to stay at this B&B. We only stayed one night, but we were very pleased with the arrangements. It is in a very beautiful area, a little out of the way, but more beautiful because of it. Owners very nice. Would definitely stay again.

Deciding to spend an extra day in the Adirondacks we chose a night at the Country Road Lodge. Our innkeepers Sandi and Steve made us feel welcome from the first hello and were so gracious during our short stay. Our room was comfortable, the sunset was spectacular and the breakfast-beyond! We are looking forward to the next time we can enjoy.

We stayed for 2 nights over Labor Day weekend. Great breakfast with an entensive menu (the homemade muffins were decilicioius), clean rooms and peaceful environment. Great hospitality from Steve and Sandi. The house is about 10-15 minutes away from the major towns around Lake George, so it's quite convenient as well.

This was our first B&B in this country and we had a good experience. It was right in the middle of nature as we expected, away from the hustle bustle. The hosts Steve and Sandi were nice and took good care of things. Breakfast was pretty much anything you can order which was great as well. Will recommend to friends.

There were air conditioning units in the individual rooms, but we came during a 90 degree week, and the rest of the house did not have air so it was pretty uncomfortable. The room was quaint, and very clean. The breakfasts were great, and we enjoyed the company of the other guests.

Innkeepers Steve and Sandi Parisi are a joy to be with, always cheerful, helpful and full of news of the North Country. We go there often for the peace and quiet, the magnificent Hudson River right out the door and the best breakfasts anywhere (Steve is the chef).

Your greeting from Sandi and Steve as you walk in the door will make you feel like family. Rooms are bright, clean, and some have a view of the Hudson along with the beautiful mountains of the area. Breakfast is a feast of choices including homemade oat bread, muffins, eggs (just about any way you want them), bacon, pancakes, french toast, oatmeal (Steve's special mix), cereal, four different juices, and coffee. Sandi and Steve are very familiar with the area and can answer your questions of what to see, where to shop or where to have dinner (even making reservations for you). We have stayed at Country Road Lodge the last three years and plan on going back for many more years to come.

The rooms are small and simple, the food good, and the hosts went out of their way to make us welcome. This is the place to go if you want to relax. Lots of things to do in nearby Lake George.

Photo Album

Our newly renovated Observatory Room, with picture postcard view of the Hudson River and Adirondack Mountains beyond. The Hudson River at low water in August. (Tell your friends you walked across the Hudson!) An easy hiking trail follows the river for miles, or rent a canoe or kayak, from nearby Beaver Brook Outfitters, for an easy paddle (and they'll even pick you up and bring you back!)
Fresh snow and our view across the Hudson at Sugarloaf Mountain. You can cross-country ski or snowshoe right at the door. Or just a half-hour drive to Gore Mountain or West Mountain for Alpine skiing. Check out our winter weekend package with all meals included.Frequent guest Elaine Blythe sent us this photo of a Monarch butterfly feeding on our asters. Country Road Lodge offers hospitality to winged creatures and 4-legged animals as well as our own species.
The view from the Observatory Room. The Hudson River provides opportunity for easy canoing and kayaking for fifteen miles. Very little human habitation is visible along this stretch of the River. The track of the Upper Hudson River Railroad follows along the opposite side.Perennial flower beds surround Country Road Lodge and provide flowering from late April through September, complementing the natural flora of our Adirondack paradise.
Sugarloaf Mountain dominates the northern view across the Hudson River from Country Road Lodge. Touches of autumn color dot the foliage during a favorite period of cool nights and comfortable days, ideal for wilderness strolls or serious mountain climbing. Our Bird Room offers the option of two twin beds or one king sized bed. A budget value, this room with a view of field and forest, has air conditioning and a fully private bath located just across the hall.
Your choice of our full country breakfast is served in our "Great Room" between 7:30 and 9:00 AM. Enjoy views in all directions and watch the birds at their own feeders just outside the windows.
