Mountain View Inn

This lovingly restored, Gilded Age Victorian is a Norfolk tradition, owned and hosted by Dean and Jean Marie Johnson. Nestled in the scenic Litchfield Hills of Northwest Connecticut, Mountain View Inn is the closest Inn to Yale's Summer Chamber Music Festival and Infinity Music Hall. A short 5 minute walk to either.

During your stay, we invite you to enjoy period appointments, an Art Gallery featuring original paintings and Giclee prints, along with The Gilded Peacock, a Whimsical Vintage Boutique. Our Oak paneled Great Room accommodates private parties and special interest events for the culturally minded. Our brand new Victorian Courtyard is the perfect setting for an outdoor wedding and our Uniquely decorated guestrooms with private baths offer spacious, comfortable accommodations filled with period antiques.

Mountain View is located 1/4 mile south of the quintessentially New England village Town Green (voted "prettiest green in Connecticut")and Norfolk's Town Center featuring Infinity Music Hall & Bistro, Mizza's Pizza, The Artisan's Guild and other speciality shops offering unique treasures. With over 80% of its land preserved, Norfolk is home to 3 State Parks. There are hiking trails in the parks as well as in Land Trust areas. * Norfolk is the home of Yale University's Summer School of Music and Art.

Innkeepers enjoy the hospitality business and that equates to a great stay. Beautiful property, charming rooms, afternoon treats, expanded buffet breakfast. Great for a stress buster weekend.
