Admiral Peary House

Located in the oldest village in the White Mountains, our historic home was once the residence of Admiral Robert E. Peary, arctic explorer and discoverer of the North Pole. Although close to the bustle of North Conway, the house sits... more

We stayed for one night, as we were attending a concert nearby. We did not have time to explore the common areas, etc. but enjoyed our stay very much. Our room was lovely, the breakfast was great, and Hilary and Derrek were very warm and friendly. We will stay here again when we are in this area.

Hilary and Derrek were delightful hosts during our recent stay. We had a marvelous room tucked up on the top floor with a lovely view of the grounds. Foliage season was just the right time to visit. They had great suggestions, recommended restaurants, tasty breakfasts and a beautiful home. Plan a getaway. You will be delighted.

We spent 2 nights at Admiral Peary House on a 5 day foliage tour. It was the highlight of our trip. The house is beautiful and meticulously well kept. The rooms were perfectly decorated & furnished, each one with a different theme. The innkeepers Derrek & Hillary were warm, friendly and gracious, making us feel at home. Derrik is a wonderfull cook. His breakfast will make you smile all day. I can't wait to go back next year. It was my best vacation ever! Thank you Derrik & Hilary, Bruce & Susana Mayerson

This was a very central location in the area. We were able to see a lot of places each day with little driving. Got to go to Vermont, NH and Maine all from this B&B. There was a great restaurant in walking distance for dinner. We ate there twice it was so good.

We've probably stayed at Peary a dozen times over the years, having met all three owners. All took pride in their inn and Derrek and Hilary are no exception. We have never been disappointed and look forward to returning. While it has been operating many years, I was impressed with how fresh our room and bathroom felt when we stayed just last week. Breakfasts are inspired and Hilary will point you in the direction of a wonderful dinner to round out your experience. We recommend it highly. Gilles and Jane Montreal

An absolutely great B&B for a quiet relaxing time. The Innkeepers are warm and welcoming, not to mention very good at what they do. The house is beautiful and not overly "fru fru-ie" - very tasteful. Our room was very comfortable and cozy. The bathroom was very nice and all fixtures worked well...a welcome relief from the cabin we stayed in before coming to the Admiral Peary. Plenty of hot water. The breakfasts were incredible - Derrek is quite the cook. The only problem is that there was too much food and we couldn't finish our breakfasts! Would highly recommend and would definitely visit again.

Our stay with Hilary and Dereck was outstanding. Hilary welcomed us and escorted us to a lovely room. The entire B and B was impeccably clean and the breakfasts were elegant and delicious. They were helpful in giving us directions to locations we wanted to visit. We would definitely stay there again.

We were one of three couples that stayed at the Admiral Peary house and it was fantastic. It was our first time at a bed and breakfast and I would do it again in a heart beat. The house was clean and very well kept. Derrek, the Innkeeper was fantastic, he cooked us some culinary delights for breakfast and you felt at home. The whole experience was great and we will definitely go back. Flo and Jeff from Toronto, Canada

Hilary and Derrek are wonderful inn keepers; their inn is lovely, they are very warm and welcoming and Derreck cooks a breakfast fit for royalty. The rooms are lovely, each with a good sized bath, lovely towels and very nice ammenities. The common rooms are very nicely appointed and they have a very large back porch, filled with comfy wicker furniture where you could easily lose yourself for an afternoon. I can't wait to return.

This was a fantastic B&B -- Delightful hosts, exceptionally delicious breakfasts, lovely rooms, impeccably clean, inviting & well-stocked common room, quite location, close to several great restaurants but away from the hectic pace of Conway. Perfect for enjoying the White Mtns. without lodging in the midst of the crowds. Definitely stay for a few days and enjoy the region. Autumn was perfect -- for foliage & food. But we look forward to staying in Spring & Winter too ! Can't recommend it more highly ! J & T, Marblehead, MA

We just got home from a weekend of snowmobiling and I will say at first I was very skeptical of the whole bed and breakfast idea, both myself and my boyfriend are big fans of privacy. However I have been made a believer that they are 100 times more inviting than any hotel. I am a very picky person and I require things to be a certain way in order to be comfortable and for once I have found a place that lives up to my standards. After arriving at the Admiral Peary House I went through our gorgeous room(we stayed in The North Pole) with a fine tooth comb and I could not find a speck of dirt or dust. When I say the place is clean I mean it. Even above the doors and in the corner of the shower was clean. But all in all this is not what made someone else’s home comfortable for us. Hilary and Derrek are by far two of the most pleasant people I have ever met. Their personalities are so easy going and kind. The home is inviting and not overwhelming and they were open to answer whatever we asked. In addition to personal baths in each room (they offered a tour of all the rooms when I had a few questions) most rooms had gas stoves and no room overlapped another so any noise was very minimal. Also the kitchen is open so you get to watch Derrek create the most amazing three course breakfast each morning. He makes it seem easy but I wouldn’t wish an open kitchen on anyone. While still their we were so impressed we inquired about the distance to the fair grounds and we are contemplating going back for Fryeburg Fair with our 6 year old son and they had a ton of information to give us and options for staying their so we would be comfortable with him. My only wish is that perhaps they bring in a dinner option someday so we can try some more of Derrek's creations.
