We originally booked 3 nights at the Buttonwood, and stayed for a further 2, we liked it so much. Our hosts Paula and Bill were fantastic. Very friendly and helpful, with the added bonus that Paula is a wonderful chef, her gourmet breakfasts were perfect, imaginative but not huge, just enough to set you up for a days walking in the beautiful surrounding countryside. The Inn had everything we could wish for including pool, jacuzzi, great DVD collection, and a peep through Bill's telescope at the planets and stars!! Lali & Tony View Reviewer Info

Over the past few years I have visited the Buttonwood Inn in Kearsarge, NH, at least 4 or 5 times. Each time I have been delighted with the tranquility of the Inn, the friendliness of Bill and Paula, the proprietors, and the care they take in making the Buttonwood Inn such a perfect place for rest and relaxation. In the summer I have hiked into the woods from the beautiful tree shaded grounds of the Inn. In the winter I have snow shoed and gone cross country skiing from the front porch. Inside and out, in any season the Inn has been comfortable, well maintained, and the surrounding area of Kearsarge, North Conway, and the Mt. Washington Valley have provided many points of interest to visit, lots of hiking, skiing, and even shopping. And did I mention the breakfasts?! Paula is an excellent cook. Her breakfasts will keep you going until her rich and varied cookies or brownies turn up in the late afternoon. Bill serves the breakfast in a cheerful manner and is always available to offer advice about sightseeing in the region and interesting animal sightings. I just visited in June and plan to go back in the fall. Time spent at the Buttonwood Inn is rejuvenating. View Reviewer Info

My girlfriends and I decided that it would be nice to get away for a girls weekend away and we decided to travel from New Jersey to New Hampshire. One of my girlfriends suggested the Buttonwood Inn, since she stayed there last year. We had a wonderful time!!!! The innkeepers Bill and Paula were warm and friendly and made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. The Inn itself was very quaint with pretty decorated gathering rooms with fireplaces, a ding area where we ate breakfast each morning and another large room with a refrigerator, bar, fireplace and TV/DVD player where we gathered in front of the fireplace to talk, watch movies and play games. We stayed in a nice sized cozy bedroom, with its own bathroom, which was were very clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast each day was scrumptious and homemade. My girlfriends and I ventured in to the town of North Conway and shopped at little quaint shops, in addition to hitting all of the outlets. Unfortunately, it rained a good portion of the weekend we were there, but we managed to take a little hike one morning behind the Inn, which I enjoyed greatly. I would recommend staying at the Buttonwood for lots of reasons; the relaxing atmosphere, the warm hospitality of the innkeepers Bill and Paula, the scrumptious breakfast, the great shopping and the pretty outdoors. It was a very enjoyable weekend with good friends and good times!!!!!!! View Reviewer Info

We were welcomed into this delightful Inn by Bill Petrone, who together with his wife Paula, own and run the Buttonwood. This 1820's farmhouse has a cosy, homely feel and there is always a wonderful aroma of home baking.
Our deluxe bedroom was delightul, featuring a brick chimney-breast and floral wall mural. Comfy chairs and lamps gave it a welcoming feel, and there were delightful views to the front and rear garden and pool, The ensuite was bright and everywhere spotlessly clean.
Breakfast was a feast of Paula's home-made delights e.g. banana/coconut bread with maple cream cheese followed by sundried tomato omlette with mozarella and parmesan cheese and roasted butternut squash!
We enjoyed exploring this beautiful part of New Hampshire and were fortunate to experience the Fryeburg Fair (the largest agricultural show in NH) on woodcutters day. We also took the scenic train ride through Mt Washington Valley and saw the glorious autumn colours.
How lovely to arrive back late afternoon to Paula's cookies and a lovely hot cup of tea!
On the computer, downstairs in the snug, we were able to view Bill's photos of their visiting black bear, humming birds and the red squirrel.
All in all a lovely stay, cared for by charming, attentive and informative hosts.
