Black Swan Inn

The Black Swan Inn is an elegant but warm 1880 Victorian home. The former Peabody-Brown Estate is located on 4 acres overlooking the Winnipeasaukee River, with formal gardens for the guests to enjoy. Beautiful stained glass windows with mahogony, walnut and oak paneling throughout. Guests are welcome to sit in the living room and enjoy the fire, or use the music room which has TV/VCR. There are large porches and on the 1st floor is a refrigerator with sodas and goodies. Well appointed and comfortable guest rooms with private and semi-private baths. Two suites available in the Carriage House. Groups events are available (up to 70 inside and unlimited guests outside. Walking Distance to the Tilton School.

Great Victorian home. Very helpful Innkeeper, comfy beds. One negative issue: Climbing stairs to 3rd floor -- no elevator.

Beautiful old home in great New England little town. Very beautiful setting. Owner had lots of helpful hints for travel here & the history of the house & area. Great! Would return!

The owner actually met us at the entrance to let us in at about 1:30 am! She had gotten out of bed to meet us and show us around then to our rooms. read more
