By far, the most memorable part of our stay at the Victorian Ladies Inn was the wonderful Innkeepers. Yes, the location is perfect--no more than three blocks away from the shore and the famous Cliff Walk; yes, the rooms are homey and well-kept; but what makes this b&b the best option in Newport are the innkeepers who make sure your stay is memorable and who will try to accommodate for whatever you've got planned in Newport. Although there are many options in Newport, VLI is head and shoulders above the rest.

While visiting Newport during the last blizzard of Dec 20th 2009, we drove into the this quaint and lovely Inn. We were two love travelers in this terrible snow storm with no reservations or direct plans made. Even though guest were attempting to leave when walked in. The Inn keeper took a special interest in us to make sure we were made welcomed and warmed from the harsh winter outside. They showed us immediately onto a wonderful room, which the fireplace was turned on and bubble bath was all ready in the bath room.The room had a great view of the snow covered street with it's wrap around windows and the decor was true to the Inn's name. Every thought was put in to make us comfortable right down to the warm and soft bathrobes. We had a great time just enjoying our unexpected stay. Even breakfast was given great care since my partner has an aversion to eggs. I highly recommend this Inn and I will return to try out the other rooms available Thank you

As we were searching for a place to stay in Rhode Island, we came upon the Victorian Ladies Inn. We are so glad we did. From the moment we arrived everyone (fellow guests included) were so friendly & personable that we elt right at home. The room was so cozy, as it had a fireplace and porch. The service and food was A+ as well. The icing on the cake was that they allow dogs, as we have a handicapped pet that makes it difficult for us to leave.

My husband and I stayed in the Edward room for a getaway weekend. The room was everything we expected it would be, pictures do not deceive. The owners Cheryl and Harry, innkeepers Cindy and Betty Jo were wonderful and friendly. We felt quite at home, something we are always worried about when we stay at a B&B. Breakfast is incredible, homemade breads, fruits, and a hot entree fresh from the kitchen. We couldn't have asked for a better visit!

We stayed in the Edward room for our 8th anniversary. We brought our small dog & were greeted with a doogie blanket & treats. The room was spacious & well furnished. The only problem is that their wi-fi service does not reach the Annandale house.

We stayed in the Pauline in June 2009. We hit off season rates and were very pleased with the whole experience. Cindy and the owners were all welcoming and knowledgable. The room was immaculate and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the gas fire after an unexpectedly cold evening. Loved the location - close to everything but quieter than if we stayed on Thames. We enjoyed afternoon tea and breakfast - food was home made and delicious. We were made to feel at home and would love to go back.

The innkeepers were very friendly, helpful and made us feel like we were at home. The rooms were very spacious and clean as a whistle. They were also decorated very nicely. the beds were very comfortable and the full size bathroom was very clean. The breakfasts were of very good quality and quantity. They also tasted delicious. We were able to walk to the main part of town where the shops and restuarants were as well as the two main features in town- the Cliff walk and the mansions. We didn't use our car the whole second day. I would go back in a heartbeat.

We stayed in the Edward room, which has beautiful hardwood floors now (there is wall to wall carpeting in the picture). The service & company were wonderful. The hearty breakfast was like a brunch - we were well fed & set for the day of sight seeing! The inn is just steps away from the start of Cliff Walk. It is about 1/2 mile from downtown Newport, which is a nice walk if the weather is nice. What a personable place - we would definitely return to Cheryl & Harry!

I don't think there are enough adjectives to describe this beautiful facility. My fiancé and I have traveled extensively and always stay at the Ritz no matter where we go, let’s just say that; we won’t be doing that anymore. Staying with Cheryl, Harry & Cindy was a delight! Absolutely made we feel like we were home. This was the first time that I have not felt homesick after just one day. The food was delicious and beyond belief and the service was superb! I give it 10 stars! Victorian Ladies Inn has set the standard super high for other places we intend to visit. The Ritz could learn a thing or two from these folks! We loved it and will make this our annual destination for weekend get aways! We love it! We will send EVERYONE we know to them.....and we know a LOT of people.

This was an inn that the owners Harry and Cheryl, and Cindy, also truly wanted you to have everything you wanted and tried to make sure your stay was enjoyable. They were very friendly and knowledgable about the area were able to give excellent recommendations of places to eat and visit. Generally my husband and I are not fond of staying at an inn but we would definitely recommend this inn and would return if going back to the Newport area. Breakfasts were beyond what you would expect in quality and variety of what was offered. Thank you.

Their knowledge of the area is comprehensive, so they can help you with whatever your sightseeing goals are. The Victorian Ladies Inn itself is extremely well maintained and well appointed. We stayed in the Arthur room, which was very warm and cozy, and had a separate TV room. The bathroom was huge – unusual for a B&B. Breakfasts were delicious and generous. My husband and I have only once stayed in a B&B before, many years ago, so we were not sure we would like it. It was the best experience ever. Personal service, friendly people, Clean, Comfortable, Wonderful atmosphere, I would/will recommend it to all. I have never had such personal service in a hotel. We stayed in the Pauline Room and it is just like the Photo, even better. Bathrooms clean, fireplace, comfortable bed, just great. Quiet, too. The gardens are lovely, even in November.

We were in town for a wedding and had a wonderful time on our long weekend. The staff, Cindy and Betty Jo, were amazing and our room, the Alfred, was perfect. We had a nice buffet each morning with homemade granola (yum) and fresh baked breads (yum) and then the special entree for the day. The Inn was within walking distance of the Cliff Walk (highly recommend) and First beach. Also, it was just a quick walk to the Tennis Hall of Fame and shops. We thought it was the perfect location, both the distance from the Newport airport, but for visiting the sites in Newport as well.

My boyfriend found Victorian Ladies on line---what a nice surprise. I rarely stay in b & b's and was happy to find the service, room, food and hospitality outstanding. The location is perfect. You are so close to the cliff walk, shops, restaurants and the beach. Leave your car in the parking lot and grab one of the beach chairs and towels they supply and walk down the beautiful street to a spectacular beach. I took a jog in the morning and came back to a wonderful home cooked breakfast of leek tarts, chicken sausage, fresh fruit and the best coffee. You have a choice of eating in the dining room or outside on the porch. Luckily they had a cancellation and we were able to stay two nights! The grounds are beautifully manicured, along with the sound of running water and shaded areas for reading and relaxing. The owners greet you in the morning and welcome your questions and even share their receipes. They were so happy to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I'm telling all my friends! Lovely, friendly owners. Rooms all decorated nicely. Nice location, as you can walk to stores, cliff walk and restaurants. We had bikes, and they provided good, safe parking for cars and bikes. We would return.
