Applegate Inn
Built in the 1920's by a New York surgeon for use as a summer estate, Applegate is set amid towering pines and manicured lawns. Rose gardens, perennial beds, and mature apple trees covering the nearly six acres of the property. A circular drive leads to the two-story pillared Georgian colonial where, inside, you will find Applegate tastefully decorated with oriental carpets, fine antiques, and quality reproductions. Each evening, wine and cheese are offered to guests in the library/living room, complete with a baby grand piano and cozy fireplace. There is also a separate TV room with its own small video library and VCR. Breakfast is served in the dining room in front of the fireplace, where candles flicker from the polished antique silver candelabras that are set on each table. Classical music fill the air while breakfast is elegantly served on antique bone china with crystal stemware.
