My wife and I are abusers of Bed and Breakfasts! Sneaking away from our daily lives every chance we get. We would selectively stalk our prey, sneaking in and out at our pleasure. Moving from B &B to B & B Performing drive by’s to seek our delight. We were good at what we did, so we never got caught. Always moving on to the next unsuspecting victim. Until the day we were caught! That day started out just like all the other hits we had performed. Then we came across The Old Powder House Inn. We were no match for the inn keepers there (Kal & Katie) as they call themselves. By the time we had finished checking in our hearts had been arrested by those two notorious sidewinders. Their sweet disposition grabs hold of you. Then you move in to the choice rooms, taken back in time to a place where charm visited every home. This old house with its seductive charm and marvelous staff has ended our search for the perfect Bed & Breakfast. We have been prisoners of paradise since that fateful day! We have tried no less than ten B & B’s in St. Augustine and having tried rest we have ended our search with the Best! We Highly recommend this Bed & Breakfast to you!!!!!!!! My girlfriend and I just stayed here for the weekend. We enjoyed our entire stay. The house is preserved exactly as you would expect to have seen it 100 years ago, but still has completly modern ammenities. Katie and Kal were incredible hosts. They both went to great lengths to accomodate any needs we had, and took a lot of extra effort to make sure we didnt just enjoy our stay in the inn, but in St. Augustine as well. Resturant recomendations/reservations, directions, tips on where to go, where no to go. I would recommend this inn for anyone coming into town.

My husband and I were thrilled to find a B&B who would take our reservation for one night on a weekend and ended up with the best room in the house. It was lovely, HUGE, and very quiet. The Old Powder House is by far the best B&B in St. Augustine. My boyfriend and I love to visit St Augustine and when we do one of our favorite things to do is stay at The Old Powder House Inn. Katie is so nice and accommodating! The rooms are beautifully decorated and each one has it's own theme and amenities. My personal favorite is The Grace Darling room. This room is perfect for the couple who loves to be pampered. The jacuzzi tub is wonderful to soak in with a glass of wine and the gas fireplace is perfect for those cold nights or just snuggling up together! The gourmet breakfast is always deliciously wonderful. We have had the pleasure of trying the stuffed french toast (my boyfriends favorite), eggs-benedict, and egg dish. Mimosas are even served! We have stayed at other B&B's in St Augustine and no one can compare to the wonderful atmosphere, delicious breakfast and the excellent service we receive at The Old Powder House Inn.

Just spent the weekend at The Old Powder House Inn and had a very relaxing time. I loved the fact that I could walk out of our room "The Serenity" and be on the 2nd floor porch. This was the cleanest B&B I have ever stayed in. Breakfast was very good along with a beautiful presentation. We will definitely return for another stay.

We have stayed at The Old Powder House several times, each time is better than the last. We always stay in the Serenity room, I just love all of the windows and the sounds of the horses passing by. Katie & Kal make you feel as though you are returning home for a visit. The breakfast are always amazing, we have never had the same thing twice. And the cookies/brownies are to die for. At our last visit Katie even made us a goody bag of cookies to take for our ride home. They truely treat you as though your are family. The only bad part about staying at The Old Powder House, is having to leave it.

We love the Old Powder House Inn! We have been visiting this Inn for 10 years. One thing that sets this Inn apart are its owners, Katie and Kal! They are the warmest, friendliest Innkeepers we have come across in all our travels. They will do what it takes to make your stay enjoyable, romantic, and as memorable as possible. We have stayed at countless Inns, Condos, Hotels, and B&B's and we always return to the Powder House. Its within walking distance of St. George St, Flagler Collage, and the Castillo de San Marcos. If you don't believe me, read one of the many diaries from the rooms at the Inn. Nearly every guest rants and raves about their stays. Katie and Kal care for their guests and love getting to know each and every one, which probably explains why they get so many repeat customers and friends! I cannot think of a single reason why anyone would not like the OId Powder House Inn. We have suggested this Inn to family and friends, and all have enjoyed their stay. I want it to be clear that this is not a hotel! This is a 110 year old B&B that is quiet and quaint, and caters to relaxation and romance. You will not find heart shaped hot tubs, a velvet Elvis, or beds that take quarters! This is a classic Inn with classic charm and character! Katie’s breakfasts are out of this world, her muffins make you weak in the knees, but don't ask for her cereal recipe ....I've been trying for 10 years and she will not share the secret! During breakfast, guests talk and share stories about who they are, where they're from and what they've done during their stay. My wife and I love the Powder House Inn and we will return as long as Katie and Kal will have us, but should they leave I don't know were we'll go because we have yet to find a couple as open, caring, friendly, and hospitable as these two wonderful people. Do yourself a favor and try the Old Powder House Inn, you'll enjoy yourself, we have!

The Inn is centrally located to downtown, but it is not disability friendly. If you have any mobility issues, please look elsewhere. If you use a wheelchair, don't even give this place a second thought. And please don't believe the innkeepers, if they tell you otherwise. Our room was clean and well-maintained, but small- maybe 300 square feet? The layout was odd- I have never stayed in a room with the bathtub in the bedroom. Given the small amount of space, having the huge tub in the middle of the room seemed strange. The food was okay- the "special cereal" was nice. Other than that, no overwhelming "gourmet" dishes- just the run-of-the-mill breakfast things (fruit and an egg dish). Most notably, for us, we found the innkeeper to be intrusive and pushy. There was a lengthy list of rules that we had to "sit down and review" before we were shown our room. We were questioned about our jobs- when we were on vacation to avoid thinking about our jobs! During the morning breakfast, we were also encouraged to socialize with nearby couples- when we would prefer to enjoy a quiet breakfast. Compared to other B&B's and Inns, we felt there was limited privacy, too many rules and that we were being watched by an over-zealous parent figure. I wish we had the same experience as other reviewers, but given our experience we will never go back and we will not reccommend the place to friends.

Whether it is a romantic weekend, a girls weekend or just time to get away... this is the place. We have stayed multiple times, and every time the service is excellent, the staff are awesome and loving, the food... supureb! and the rooms are a dream come true. The balcony view is amazing. This is the best bed and breakfast in St. Augustine. Katie and Kal never forget a face or a name! Here, the best thing, we are walking distance to everything. I love this place!

If you are looking for a perfect place to stay...look no further. Kate and Kal made our visit to St Augustine, Fl perfect. It was all we ever hoped for and more. The room (The Grace Darling) was wonderful. Every little detail was there. The fireplace and jacuzzi tub made for a perfect night. We stayed at this B&B over memorial day weekend, so the prices were expensive in all B&B's. Our room was very small which we knew ahead of time. It was quaint and very tidy. The inn was charming and had a wonderful location relative to the main attractions. We had a very nice time.

We enjoyed our stay, the room was excellent as well as the food. Service was outstanding.

My wife and I celebrated our 13th anniversary here this weekend. The inn is wonderful and within walking distance to everything. The "memories" room was romantic and charming; as was the whole inn. Kal and Katie immediately make you feel like long lost friends comming home for a visit.

After a warm welcome from "mine host" the rooms were clean comfomfortable and quiet and so tastefully decorated. Complimentary wine on the porch, helpful suggestions for dinner venues and introductions to other guests made this a home from home. Pre breakfast coffee/tea and an excellent meal set us up for the morning. The new owners have a tough act to follow.
