Located a few kilometres from the medieval city of Carcassonne, Trèbes city is an island bordered by the Aude River, its tributary the Orbiel and the canal du Midi. In the heart of the Cathar region, between the Mediterranean guarigues and the black mountain forests, Trèbes is on the road of the vineyards of the minervois and wines of the Corbières, and 1/2 hour from the sea. Around the historical center filed for his Church, can take advantage of a Marina, visit its lock, and other water on the edge of the canal du midi, which passes above the gardens back over the bridge to the Rode. The village is at the intersection of road, marine or hiking routes that lead to the various attractions throughout the region.

We spent 2 night at the "Riverside Home Cottage" and recommend this B&B highly. The rooms are comfortable and decorated in Pierrette's unique and quirky style. Breakfast is plentiful and includes homemade jam and homegrown fruit. The accommodation is easy to find and Pierrette will help you to make the best of the local attractions and good places to eat in and around Trebes. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in the area don't stay in dusty Carcassonne when this jewel is so close!

We were able to book a few days before arriving and consider it our good fortune to have done so. This lovely lady is hospitable, attentive, generous, affable and very knowledgeable about the area. We stayed in the quiet and very comfortable White Room. The loft has a lovely terrace overflowing with an abundance of flowers that she attends to daily. Her breakfasts are varied, delicious and offer many local specialties. She goes out of her way to ensure that you are well fed before leaving for the day. I can go on but, suffice to say, you won't be disappointed if you stay at this B+B. We also found that the cycle path along the canal to the Cite Carcassonne was easy as it was charming with many boats and locks on the way.

We very much enjoyed our four night stay in Trèbes at this charming chambre d'hôte. Our host Pierrette provided us with excellent accommodation, a colourful and rich historic background to the area. Fortified with a hearty breakfast each day with local specialities we were able to spend a full day visiting la Cité in Carcassonne, vth medieval village of Minèrve, villages in the Corbières. Access to the cycling paths of the Canal du Midi was so close that we took our bikes and rode the 13 km to Carcassonne For a second visit.Pierrette is delightful accommodating host with a wealth of information to share! Great stay. Merci beaucoup!
