5 out of 5Great B&B in Austin!
January 24, 2013
My best friend and I stayed in October '12 and Damon was great, we felt like we were staying with family. The property is absolutely beautiful and even though we were in Austin, it felt like I was miles away from the city and were able to enjoy some peace and quiet. Our favorite part was probably the breakfasts- Neil's omelets were amazing! It was out first time in Austin and both Damon & Neil told us places we could go visit, and made us feel very welcomed throughout our stay. Damon even went out of his way and gave us a ride to downtown and made sure to give us his number and address to the b&b incase something happened. With it being our first time in Austin, it was reassuring to know that we were taken care of. We're already looking for an excuse to drive down to Austin for another visit!
4.6 out of 5Great food, great service
November 14, 2012
We used to go to B&Bs a lot before we had kids. We hadn't been to one in quite a while before visiting Albert Oaks, and we were very pleased. This place was a great getaway. The service was top notch. The owner is attentive to the needs of guests, and obviously has a passion about the kitchen. The ingredients were all fresh and flavorful. We had a very pleasant breakfast on the patio on a sunny, crisp morning. All our meal experience at Albert Oaks were equally pleasing. The rooms are clean and nice, and the common area is very well apportioned. The property itself is also interesting. It's an expansive place tucked away in an interesting part of South Austin. The gardens and paths throughout the property evoke memories of peaceful country living. I would definitely return and recommend the place to others.
4.6 out of 5Home away from home!
October 16, 2012
We stayed at Albert Oaks for 4 nights, and felt right at home from the moment Damon, the proprietor, picked us up from the airport. The rooms were amazing and comfortable, and the surrounding grounds just lovely. There was a break from the usual summer heat during our stay, and we were invited to enjoy a fire while watching the games on the patio. The staff and residents were warm and hospitable, and we enjoyed the feeling of family. Next time we're visiting Austin, we will definitely give Damon a call, and would recommend Albert Oaks to anyone wanting to "get away".
5 out of 5My Experience at Albert Oaks
October 08, 2012
Seriously this is a great place, and Damon Young, the proprietor, has a vision. He has expanded his residence on his towering oak-covered 3 acres a beautiful hill country south of downtown Austin tucked away in an older, unique neighborhood. It is secluded and private. Enter through the gates and walk around and find a huge spacious place perfectly nestled within the trees. It takes 10 minutes to get to downtown. It is destined to be my place away from home. (near downtown Houston). Damon is a terrific chef and we went for the all-meals inclusive package the second time around. There are always sodas, coffee, juice, fresh fruit and snacks available. He is a sommelier and when he chooses a bottle or two for the evening happy hour you will be pleasantly surprised. It is all new, fresh and clean. Albert Oaks only takes guests over 25 so you can be reasonably assured of having a restful stay. The rooms are well appointed with wonderful tempurpedic beds, huge TV’s in the rooms, in the living room and on the back patio. You will have all-access cable and a huge movie library. The showers are terrific too (one room has a very cool walk-in tub which I really like). Both visits, I actually had hard time leaving the place. There is an organic garden and a winding trail through the burgeoning orchard and oak trees on the several acre grounds. Give it a try and I promise you will return again::

This was my first B&B and I did not know what to expect. I am use to 4 and 5 star hotels. The rooms are all cute and decorated in a fun way. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The owners and staff are wonderful. The atmosphere feels like you are visiting family. We only stayed one night but the food was so good we wanted to stay a few extra days. We enjoyed the fresh baked cookies after we checked in and fresh fruit was always available.
