Blenheim Lodge is peacefully located against 50 acres of National Trust fields and woodlands, and boasts panoramic views of Lake Windermere to the fells beyond. Situated no more than a 5-minute walk into the centre of Bowness-on-Windermere with all its local amenities and attractions, Blenheim Lodge is also fortuitously placed for walkers of The Dales Way long distance footpath and three viewpoints, all of which may be accessed via a farm gate a literal minute's stroll from our guest house. For guests seeking a tranquil location that is nevertheless close to pubs, restaurants, attractions and other amenities as well as open countryside, our Bed and Breakfast is an ideal place to stay. Our 4-star Bowness Bed and Breakfast is also an excellent base for days out exploring the rest of the Lake District, which is about 32 miles across and 40 miles long.
This fantastic view of Lake Windermere and its surrounding fells may be seen from all our Lake-facing bedrooms and public rooms, and also from our porch at Blenheim Lodge.
The view from some of our double and single rooms (The Langdale, The Coniston, The Attic, The Eyrie, and Claife Heights). Here is Lake Windermere surrounded by high fells during one late Winter day.
The Langdale: A 5'foot wide four-poster bed circa 1834 sits in this former drawing room, boasting panoramic views of Lake Windermere and the fells beyond. Enjoy a resstful sleep in our pocket sprung mattress from the upmarket bed shop, And So To Bed, and wake up refreshed to birdsong and fabulous Lake District views.
The Attic: Our cosy romantic nest under the eaves offers some of the best views from our guest house, Blenheim Lodge. The Attic is furnished with antique pieces, including this Louis XV bed. There is a private bathroom with a deep claw-foot slipper bath and handheld shower.
The Fairfield: This is our largest bedroom and has a beautifully carved white-painted mahogany Louis suite with a 5-foot bed, a huge wardrobe, dressing table, bedside tables and small chest of drawers. There is an antique daybed in the huge 7-foot triple floor to ceiling bay windows from which guests may look out to north Lake Windermere and the fells beyond as far as the eye can see. The Fairfield has a nice walk-in shower en-suite and may also be used flexibly for twin, double or triple occupancy.
The Dalesway: Romantic French antique furniture, with Louis XV bed and bergere daybed grace this room. This pretty room overlooks tranquil pastoral views, and can be used for double, twin or triple occupancy. There is a small shower ensuite.
The 'get away from it all' lookout from The Dalesway room, where sheep pasture in tranquil countryside.
Take a seat by the triple bay windows in our guest lounge at Blenheim Lodge and look out over Old Bowness and stunning Lake and mountain views.
Make yourself at home in our comfortable lounge at Blenheim Lodge.
Enjoy a bird's eye view of scenic our surrounding Lakeland landscape from The Eyrie, a single room on the second floor of Blenheim Lodge. Guests may also see this picturesque setting from a number of other guest rooms in our Bed and Breakfast guest house in Bowness-on-Windermere.
This photo was taken from The Attic, a double bedroom on the second floor of our guest house, Blenheim Lodge. Guests may enjoy cruises on Lake Windermere with Windermere Lake Cruises. Here is one of their ferries crossing the Lake from Bowness-on-Windermere (where Blenheim Lodge is situated) to Waterhead. Blenheim Lodge is located 5-7 minutes' walk to Bowness Bay and pier, where guests will have a choice of ferry destinations and also watercraft to hire.
Bowness-on-Windermere town centre is 2-5 minutes walk from Blenheim Lodge, our Bed and Breakfast in the heart of the English Lake District National Park. Bowness sits on the shores of Lake Windermere overlooked by high fells and surrounded by stunning scenery.
Bowness Bay, Lake Windermere, 5-7 minutes walk from Blenheim Lodge, is a great leisure facility for locals and visitors alike. Rent a kayak, canoe or rowboat and take to the Lake. Or hop on a cruise on England's largest natural lake. Lake Windermere and its cruises are open year round for sailors, anglers, sightseers and boating. Once a year, the Great British North Swim is held on the Lake.
This view Old Bowness, Lake Windermere and these Lake District fells from The Langdale is shared with a few other guest rooms in our Bed and Breakfast. Most serviced accommodation in Bowness-on-Windermere, where Blenheim Lodge is situated, does not offer Lake or countryside views. There are possibly only a couple handfuls of serviced accommodation that can offer these same stunning views from their rooms. The best Lake views from Blenheim Lodge encompass approximately 6-7 miles of the 10.5-mile long Lake Windermere.

5 out of 5AMAZING!
April 25, 2013
1 word amazing!! I surprised my girlfriend with a night in the lakes. Upon arrival we had a very warm welcome by Janz the hostess and she surprised us with an upgrade of rooms! We saw both rooms and both were beautiful and cosy. A few reasons why I choose Blenheim Lodge: -Room: Antique 4 poster bed and the most stunning panorama view over WIndermere + the mattresses are out of this world! SO COMFY! + the room was very clean and tidy. -Location: NOT on the main road, so NO traffic noise and very peaceful, and only a 5 minute (if that) to the main road with shops and many restaurants to choose from. The walk is up a hill, otherwise there wouldn't be a stunning view either! But nothing to steep and its only a few minutes. -Style: The rooms have been decorated in a style that benefits the age of the 19th century home, bit of a time travel, There is lots of antique furniture, yet the bathrooms are modern and very clean -Food: Breakfast was scrummy! Fresh and local and if not enough you can always get more! All in all a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend to anybody looking for the above, I hope to stay again!....

My husband and i stayed in the Coniston room at Blenheim Lodge. It was beautiful, well looked after and the views of Windemere were to die for. On arrival we were greated pleasantly and asked if we would like a cup of Tea or coffee, which we enjoyed in the sitting room again with fantastic views. Janz informed us of things to do and places to see and even a wonderful view point for a picnic, which we had that evening. Nothing was to much trouble and the staff were always available to see to your requirements. We had a fantastic time and wished we had the time and money to have stayed longer. However, we would recommend Blenheim Lodge to anyone for a fantastic stay. We send best wishes and hope to revisit soon.
