The Collins House Inn Belgian Waffle

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup Flour
  • 1/2 cup Cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Whole Milk or Buttermilk or Half & Half
  • 1/3 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon Butter Flavoring

  1. In a bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, baking powder, soda, & salt.
  2. Add milk, oil, egg, sugar, vanilla, and butter flavoring & mix well. LET BATTER SET FOR 30 MINUTES. (LONGER IS OK)
  3. Preheat waffle iron. DO NOT use non-stick spray. Follow the directions on your waffle iron to cook the waffles.
  4. Serve immediately with choices of melted butter, syrup, fruit topping, and top with whipped cream and a sprinkling of cinnamon. If using fresh strawberries, wash, dry, hull, and slice. Place strawberries in a bowl and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
