Almond-Encrusted French Toast Fingers Drizzled w/ Homemade Maple Syrup and Garnished w/ Fresh Fruit

Ingredients

  • 10 Slices Bread
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/4 Cup Half & Half
  • 3 Tablespoons Cinnamon Sugar
  • 1 1/2 Cups Ground Almonds
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 Tablespoons Almond Extract
  • 4 Tablespoons Margarin
  • 1/4 Mango
  • 1/4 Orange
  • 1/4 lb Grapes
  • 4 Strawberries
  • 1/8 Pomegranate
  • 1/2 Cantaloupe
  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup

  1. Remove the crusts from the bread and cut each slice in half to form french toast fingers.
  2. In a bowl whisk Eggs, Half and Half, Cinnamon Sugar, Salt, and Almond Extract.
  3. Warm a pan with Margarin. (1 Tablespoon for 5 sticks)
  4. Dip the bread into the egg mixture, then coat with almond crumbs and place in pan.
  5. Cook for 2-3 min or until golden brown. Garnish the french toast with confectioners sugar and fresh cut fruit: Mango, Cantaloupe, Orange, Strawberry, Grapes and Pomegranate Seeds. Drizzle with "Silverstone Inn and Suites Homemade Maple Syrup"(fresh from our maple grove) and enjoy!
