Muesli: Breakfast-Brunch

Step 1:

Bircher-Muesli 2 cups natural yogurt (Brown Cow recommended) 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats 1 cup milk (organic if possible) 3-4 Tblsp. of sugar 2 apples, chopped 2 bananas 1 orange Some grapes, strawberries or any other fruit* ½ lemon (I use only one large apple, peeled & chopped; I don’t add the orange or grapes and always add the banana. I use 1 cup or more of the Costco combo of frozen strawberries, raspberries & blueberries. I squeeze the lemon juice over the chopped apple if I have it on hand. (Don’t usually bother.) Chopped walnuts to add on top just before serving. Stir together yogurt, oats, milk and sugar. Mix together fruit. Squeeze lemon onto fruit. Add frozen berries. Combine everything To your taste. Leave overnight. If you like, you can add nuts, Raisins or whipping cream. This famous dish was created in Switzerland by Dr. Bircher in 1887 at his diet clinic.
