Cali Cochitta Pecan Pie

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 Eggs
  • 3 tablespoons Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 1 cup Finely chopped Pecans

  1. Cream together sugar, butter and add vanilla & eggs 1 at a time. Add flour & salt. Mix together and add buttermilk.
  2. Pour into crust and bake at 300 degrees for 90 minutes. Note: Watch crust. If browning too quickly put foil around edges to stop browning.
  3. Crust: 3 cups flour, 3 T. Sugar, 1 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. baking powder, 1 1/4 c. shortening (crisco butter sticks work well), 1 egg, 5 T. cold water, 1 T. Vinegar. Mix together and press into a 9" pie tin. Scallop edges.
