Poached Pears with Vanilla Cream Sauce: Breakfast-Brunch

Ingredients:

  • 4 bosc pears, peeled

  • 3/4 cup heavy cream

  • 1/8 cup sugar

  • 2 teaspoon vanilla

  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted

  • 1 1/4 cup apple juice or apple cider

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/8 cup sugar

  • whipped cream

  • dash cinnamon

Step 1:

Measure apple juice/cider into a microwavable safe dish. Add cinnamon and 1/8 cup sugar. Cut pears into medium size chunks. Heat in microwave on high for 3-5 minutes until tender but not too soft.

Step 2:

Mix heavy cream, 1/8 cup sugar,vanilla and butter in a 2nd microwaveable safe bowl. Heat on high for 2 minutes.

Step 3:

Divide pears into individual serving dishes. Spoon heavy cream sauce over the pears. Top with whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon.
