Heaven Sent Vanilla Saffron Pears: Breakfast-Brunch

Servings: 4

Prep time:30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 8 small pears

  • 4 cups water

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar

  • 1 slice ginger

  • pinch saffron shreds

  • 1 small slice lemon rind

Step 1:

Peel the pears but leave the stems intact.

Step 2:

Place the pears, water, vanilla bean, saffron, ginger, and lemon rind in a saucepan.

Step 3:

Cook over low heat for 30 minutes or until the pears are just soft, turning them occasionally.

Step 4:

Serve in bowls with the vanilla and saffron poaching liquid. Garnish with shreds of saffron.
