Sally Lunn Buns: Bread

Ingredients:
4 tablespoons Organic butter

2/3 cup Organic milk

1 pinch sea salt

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 large Organic or free-range egg

2 teaspoons level teaspoon dried, active yeast
Step 1:
Sift sea salt and flour together in large bowl; prepare the yeast according to packet instructions. Combine butter and milk in medium saucepan, stir over low heat until butter is melted. Add yeast mixture, warmed milk and butter,and egg to the flour; mix to a smooth paste.
Step 2:
Spoon rounded tablespoonfuls onto greased baking tray 3" apart; place in pre-warmed (not hot, and turned off) oven. Close oven door and leave light on to keep warmth going; leave to rise for 1 hour.
Step 3:
Remove tray of risen dough balls and set aside; pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Place baking tray with buns on center rack and bake for twenty to thirty minutes, until nicely risen and browned.
Step 4:
Serve oven-fresh buns with butter, preserves, and with clotted cream if you can get it!
