Walnut Craisin Scones: Breakfast-Brunch

Servings: 12

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups white flour

  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 6 tablespoons butter, chilled

  • 1/3 cup craisins

  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

  • 1 egg

  • buttermilk

Step 1:

Place egg in 1-cup liquid measuring cup. Add enough buttermilk to equal 1 cup, mix and set aside.

Step 2:

In a large mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in butter. Stir in craisins and walnuts. Add buttermilk mixture, stirring just until dough clings together.

Step 3:

Drop dough, a scant ¼ cup at a time onto lightly greased baking sheet.

Step 4:

Bake at 400 for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden. Dust with powdered sugar.
