Sourdough Eggs

Ingredients

  • 12 Slices Lightly buttered extra-sourdough bread
  • 4 cups Grated cheddar cheese
  • 10 Eggs
  • 4 cups Milk
  • 3 Heaping tablespoons Spicy Mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Medium Onion, Diced
  • 1 cup Mushrooms, Thinly Sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon Pepper

  1. Cut bread into small cubes. Place 1/2 of bread cubes into large coated baking dish. Sprinkle with 2 cups cheese, onion and mushrooms. Adds second layer of bread and top with remaining cheese.
  2. Beat eggs, milk, mustard, salt and pepper together. Pour this mixture evenly over the casserole. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
  3. Bake at 325*F for approximately 50 minutes until top is golden and lightly crusted.
