Oven French Toast: Breakfast-Brunch

Ingredients:

  • 8 Bread slices (wholewheat or white)

  • 6 Eggs

  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla

  • 6 oz Cream Cheese

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon

  • 1/3 cup Maple Syrup

Step 1:

In 9X13 pan, spray cooking oil on inside of pan. Tear bread slices into small chunks (approx. 1 inch in size) and put in bottom of pan.

Step 2:

Mix all wet ingredients and Cream Cheese together. Beat until mostly smooth.

Step 3:

Pour wet mixture over bread chunks. Using spoon, push down on chunks so they get moist. Sprinkle cinnamon on top.

Step 4:

Cover mixture with aluminum foil, poke two holes in top with toothpick. Put foil-covered pan in refrigerator overnight.

Step 5:

In Morning: Heat over to 350 degrees. Place pan in heated over and bake 30 minutes with foil cover on. After 30 minutes, remove foil and bake until golden brown on top (approx. 30 minutes more) Test with toothpick so it comes out clean. Cut into pieces and serve hot with fresh fruit compote, warm syrup or powdered sugar!
