Apple Streusel Bread Pudding with Hot Rum Sauce

Ingredients

  • 7 large croissants
  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 8 large eggs
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter

  1. Slice croissants and line the bottom of a greased 9" x 13" pan with croissant bottoms.
  2. Mix applesauce, cinnamon, nutmeg, and raisins and spread on croissant bottoms in pan. Put tops back on.
  3. Beat eggs, sugar, milk, and vanilla with an electric mixer until well mixed and pour over croissants.
  4. Cut butter into flour and brown sugar until crumbly and sprinkle on top of croissants in pan.
  5. Bake at 300' for 1 hour or until set.
